After the test they had a leave of two days. Then next morning i.e.,on Monday, in classroom Manik, Cabir n dhruv were chilling when Navya enters but all alone.
"Madhubala uhh I mean Navya Nandini kah hai? U both always stay together right"manik asked
"Nandini phone pe baat kar rahi hai"navya replied in a sad tone
"Kya hua navya any problem" manik said
"Woh nandini ke grades drop ho gaye n uske dad ne use islie call kiya hai aur wo phone pe continuosly royi ja rahi hai" navya said while crying too
"Where's she now"
"Corridor me grls washroom ke paas"navya said wiping her tears
Nandini n her dad's phone conversation
Nandini was with navya when her phone beeped
"Hi dad how r u n hows my filmy mom doing without me!!"nandini exclaimed
"Nandini principal sir informed me abt ur marks in the test." He said in a stern voice. Nandini clearly understood his anger
"Dad woh I came late na so maybe dats y"n out of fear tears trickled down frm her eyes. She signed navya to leave.
"Rly nandini so now u hav even started lying. All these stupid excuses won't work for ur AIIMS or NEET exam. If now only u r getting 560 out of 720 then after 1 yr wat will happen. Then u will say dad I hardly remembered anything I studied in 11th dats y couldn't get marks. Now u shud hav at least got 600 but no. Nowadays u r so busy misbehaving with ur teachers dat u r hardly attending the classes!" Nandini was crying bitterly all this while.

All those passing by were looking at her n laughing wen Manik arrived n protectively side hugged her n showed eyes to the ones laughing n signed them to leave.
"Dad trust me I didn't misbehave with anyone"nandini said amidst her sobs. Manik was looking at her helplessly
"Shut up nandini. Do u even realize how humiliating it was fr me n I even came to know dat nowadays u r hanging arnd with a boy, playing matches with him n all
"dad he's jst my frnd dats y I was playing basketball with him dat too in the games period"
"I don't wanna hear any explanation. But its my last n final warning dat if I get any complaints in the future or in the annuals ur grades drop den nxt year I'll admit u in a boarding skl" n he cuts the call be4 Nandini cud say anything
She cries a lot n loudly. Manik was feeling bad looking at her condition.
"Nandini"he said reluctantly keeping his hand on her shoulder but den all of a sudden nandini hugged him n remains in dat position fr a long tym as she's feeling relieved. First Manik goes numb at her action. But den he hugs her too n brushes her hair.

After quite a long time Nandini realized wat she did n broke the hug. Out of embarrassment she avoided eye contact with manik
"Oye yaar kya hua kuch bhi to nahi. Aur bade bade shehro me aisi choti choti batein hoti rehti hai"manik said in a filmy style
"Yeh shah rukh khan ka dialogue hai na! Manik I'm a big fan of shah rukh I just love him" nandini said
Manik became upset "beta manik if u wanna impress her go all Shah rukh for her! But wat if I deliver original dialogues...dat will be better of course!"n he smirked
Nandini snapped her fingers bringing him out of his trance "Waise if u want u can share anything with me coz I believe dat after sharing ur sorrows u tend to feel relieved n lighter"manik said
"Actually...no let it be u will get upset too"
"Nandini I know ur dad mentioned abt me too. So...hang on u come with me"
"Where"
"Don't ask anything just come" saying this manik takes her to d staircase beside the primary section.
"Manik we r not allowed over here right"she said looking around
"Nandini I'm d skl trustee's son. So they can't say anything to me"
They sit down
"Actually in yesterday's test, I got less marks so dats y he was angry with me"she said
"Yesterday's test! But results aren't out yet so..."
"principal sir n my dad hv been frnds since college n dad has specially asked him to giv every detail abt my progress n activities"
"Ohh damn strict yaar. My parents r not bothered at all abt my education but just find ways to...let it be. Btw how much marks u got dat he got so mad at u!"
