Before you read; this chapter is solely a crossover with Study Buddy by Standoffish_ . We've become pretty tight over the past few months and actually write together :) You don't have to read her story to read this chapter because the plot is not enhanced by whatever happens in the chapter. But if you do read Study Buddy, you will understand the irony and slight humor expressed! Thanks.

This is my first time seeing my children since what, February? I wanted to make everything feel real to them, so Levi allowed me to stay until breakfast. We ate outside on the deck where Levi was passing out plates. I found it best to keep my mouth shut and not say anything to her. I didn't want to get her worked up or hint at anything else. I cut my eyes at her ass a few times as she walked back and forth, and that was about it.
"So you coming home pops?" Carter asks, I shook my head and stared down at my plate of steaming hot food and began to eat.
"Why not?" Brayden asks next.
"He's in rehab, duh guys." Mariah adds. Who the hell told her that?
"Who said that? I'm not in rehab, I have my own condo out downtown." I rose my eyebrows and looked back to Mariah.
"Afterschool, Shannon was near my bus stop with some little girl and told me to tell everyone she said 'hi' but not you because you're in rehab." She shrugs, Mariah was still learning the real world, middle school or not she was at the gullible stage.
"None of y'all should be talking to Shannon except for Carter." I warn, Shannon was a freaking dub at times.
The rest of the time I faked my happiness to gain laughs out of them, telling them how I was going to try to come by and spend more time with them, definitely pushing the envelope on that one, but I prayed Levi didn't mind. It was turning on 9 am, and everyone seemed to have some type of game to attend along with a carpool system so I hugged them goodbye and went to find my shoes. Levi was standing at the door, watching me as I tied them. Once I was finished I realized I needed a shower, but it could wait.
"Hurry, and don't take long either." She said examining me.
"No, you've aloud me to do enough here. I'll be back next week to um, see them and take them to my place. Thanks again Levi." I say looking down and not at her.
"Yep."

"What do you mean Noemi hasn't came home in the past few days?" I tried to keep my composure since I was at work trying to attend to a model, but with so many interrupting phone calls it was hard to focus, my phone was blowing up and everything.
"She won't answer her phone, nobody has seen her. Not even Carey... Clinton and I are going to the police station in a few to report her absence, are you coming?" Mama Joyce says into the line, I walked back and worth in the hallway trying to think of where this girl could possibly be.
"I-I can't come until after work, today is my first day and right now I'm not making a good impression. Can you tell Chris, maybe he can-" I slowed my words down as I realized that things between him and Noemi weren't safe, and the last thing I wanted to know or see is Chris still acting a certain way towards our daughter. "Um, just let Chris know please?"
"Sure sweetheart, call me when work is over." She says and I thank her one last time before hanging up my phone and slipping it into my back pocket.
I was ready to turn into the shoot again, before I heard a familiar voice. My eyebrows creased inwards, and my cheeks turned rosy it seemed when I turned around and saw Chris running towards me. He seemed out of breath, same appearance as earlier, and defined cheekbones that made him look deeply depressed.
