CARTER'S POV

Why couldn't you have just died? Why couldn't you have just died? That sentence. It just kept repeating in my head over and over again. Maybe I should die? Seems like everyone wants me to anyway, so why not?

"Austin. Wake up now. Please?"

I started crying. Austin started opening his eyes.

"W-what happened?" He stuttered. "Wh-why are you crying?!" You could hear anger in his voice.

"I um. Well um. I just. Robert sort of-"

"What did Robert say to you?!" He yelled.

"He said why couldn't I have just died! Okay?"

"So you are telling me that you want to die?" He said tearing up.

"Yes, my life is horrible!"

"Yeah right! You have the softball team, me, Lauren, Alex, even Robert! And you have your family, and friends back in Illinois!"

"Sure. But are you even mad about Robert?"

"No, he's like my brother."

"Wow. You know what? You can leave too!"

"No."

"And why not?"

"Because I said so."

"You know, Robert and I dated. I hope you know that."

"WHAT?!" He yelled.

"Yep." I smiled. "While you left me here to die!"

"I hate him!"

Austin got up and ran. I jumped up and ran after him, I saw him at the elevator getting ready to get on, but people were still getting off. I ran up behind him, and I wrapped my arms around his torso. I put my head between his shoulder blades.

"Austin?"

No response.

"Austin, Robert means nothing to me. He just got me upset. Okay?"

I heard him sigh.

"Okay but I am not friends with him anymore."

"No, Austin. It's fine."

"No it's not!"

"What is your deal?!" I screamed.

Austin turned around to face me.

"Fine! I guess I won't be mad that he said you should die. I won't be mad that he dated you when I was! Okay?"

I sighed and walked back to my room. He just doesn't understand. I'm done. I'm done with him, Robert. You know what! I am leaving Miami, and I'm going back to Illinois, and never coming back.

I walked back to my hospital room and when I sat down the doctor came in.

"Hello Mrs. Carter" She smiled

"Hi." I smiled back.

"You are able to get out the hospital today!"

"Great! Is it okay if I ride in a plane though?"

"How long would the plane ride be?" The docor asked.

"Well I live in Illinois."

"I guess I can look that up." The doctor said.

"Thanks." I said back to her.

The doctor started walking away but turned back around.

"Actually, On second thought you can go. I can tel you're hurt and you need to go home."

I smiled wealky.

"How long until I can leave?"

"Now if you'd like?"

"Thank you so much!"

I ran up to her and hugged her. I felt tears come down my face.

"Now, come on. Don't cry." She said kind of laughing.

"I'm not trying to" I laughed

"Well you can leave." She smiled.

She walked out of the room, and I started packing.

I don't know where Austin is. And I really do not care!

*1 Hour Later*

I'm now at the airport. I haven't seen Austin or Robert. I went to the lady at the desk.

"Ticket to Illinois please." I said.

"You are going to Illinois? By youself? How old are you?" The lady asks with an attitude.

"That is none of your business." I spat.

"Sorry. how old are you?" The lady asked

"Are you serious?! I'm just going to take a cab!" I yelled

I turned around to leave the airport and I saw someone I never wanted to see. Ever again
