It was exactly a week after Alex's birthday and I was just arriving home from school.

"Hey Aunt Fay" I shouted as I ran up the stairs.

"Hey love" Aunt Fay called back.

When I got the my room there was a letter on my bed. I picked it up and opened it.

Dear Jodie Smith,

I have some terrible news. Your mum, dad and little brother Rory were on there way to visit your Aunt Lily and Uncle Ben when they had a terrible accident.
The driver of a white van was under the influence of alchol when he lost control on the Huddison Bridge. The car your family were traveling in tell off the bridge and into the river below. I hope you will take great comfort in knowing that they were killed instantly on impact. The funeral will be in a week's time at the Grovener Church at Thursday at 11:00.

When I looked up I saw Aunt Fay standing in the doorway with tears in her eyes. My mum Jo was Aunt Fay's little sister. As much as my parents had disowned me they were still my parents and my little brother Rory. He would be eight now.

He was away with Aunt Lily and Uncle Ben on a camping trip when we were on holiday.

I had tried not to think about my loving little brother so much since I had come to live with my Aunt Fay. The last day that I saw him was the day they dropped all my things off.

Little did I know that it would be the last time that I would see him.

"Oh love" Aunt Fay cried as she held open her arms. I got up and ran straight into her embrace. We stayed like this for what seemed like forever when I finaly asked

"Can I go and see Alex?"

"Of course love. Take all the time you need" she cried as she whipped the tears from her cheeks.
