"Choromatsu, did you make the call to the family?"
"Yes boss, they sounded very distressed by the news."
"Well they should've payed their house bills!"
I leaned back in my chair as I listened to my boss ramble about his frustrations, and of course he had to take his anger on me. I took a sip of my coffee, decaf medium roast, the only way I like it. I never would've thought that the beverage would actually be a use in my life, but times like this, I really need it.
My name is Choromatsu Matsuno, I moved here to America to finally get a job. It took me awhile to realize what occupation I wanted to go in, I tried multiple routes; retail, accounting... hell I even tried finance! They just didn't work for me, so I took up what might've been my most easiest option, real estate. You know, with the houses and such! It can actually be pretty compelling at moments, such as when I have to take pictures of houses and the owners don't know that I'm a agent, so they write down my license plate and yell at me. Or that one time when I was showing a house to a family and the owner of the house suddenly says that it's no longer on sale, so the father and the owner got into a pretty brutal fight.
"Mr. Matsuno, are you even listening to me?" I snapped out of the thoughts and made a nervous laugh.
"Y-Yes sir! About how your daughter's been getting a low C in her AP Calculus class!" He raised a eyebrow and scratched his neck.
"Well, yes she has but I'm talking about how my dog bit the neighbor yesterday and now I have to go to court." I sat up straight in my chair.
"Oh! Why of course! I new you were talking about that, I was just seeing if you noticed!" My boss rolls his eyes.
"Hm... Did you get the BPO done on the house on Meadow St?"
"Y-Yes sir!"
"Alright, you can leave early. And quit looking so high-strung, it looks unprofessional."
"Ehh yes sir!" I stood up out of my seat and drank the last of my coffee, I don't want to take it home with me. It'll be cold by then.
I pulled into my driveway and wave at the neighbors who are mowing their lawn on the other side of the fence. Of course, they never return the action, so I just awkwardly get out of my car. My house isn't what you'd expect from a real estate agent, it's a ranch style house. I just couldn't buy a multiple storied house, that's too much to keep under control, plus I always get lost in them.
When I walk inside my house, the first thing I always see is a family portrait. I honestly miss my family, but I couldn't live under their care forever. I had to move on. I'm not sure what their doing now, since I was the last one to leave the household. They probably went their separate ways too. I get changed out of my work clothes and into a green flannel and dark blue jeans, way more comfortable than the grey ensemble.
I hear a knock at the front door that causes me to go into a frantic state. 'Company? I haven't had visitors in how many years! Is my house clean? Does it look unkempt?' The thoughts flooded my mind as I'm surveying the room. The knocking continued and i'm forced to shout out a "Hold on!" To make them stop. I walked over to the door and was preparing to open the door. But then I saw something in the corner of my eye, causing me to gasp. Sitting right in the middle of the room, was the latest issue of, you guessed it, playboy magazines. I make a inaudible scream and picked up the magazine, I searched for a place to hide it and unfortunately, only one place looked possible, the trash can. I looked back at my magazine and whispered a 'I'm sorry' and shove it in the can.
I ran back over to the door and swung it open. On the opposite side was someone I least expected. I felt my eyes widen and my jaw drop.
"...Osomatsu?!"
Hooray! I'm finally making a Osochoro story! I have a lot in store for this one! Also, the reason I picked real estate is because I have more knowledge on it than any other business type career and some events in this story are actually based on actual things that I've seen while helping with real estate. Well anyways, I hope you have a nice day and see you next chapter! :D
