Tris
An hour passed by and no one knew what to do, no one had any idea if someone would enter the dorm. Just when I was about to go and find someone, Four walks through the door, his body carrying strength and power. He speaks to us as a whole,
"I'm so sorry for the wait; Eric had a discussion with me whether all of you should have a punishment for drawing attention in the lunch hall. Of course that's a little extreme, so I convinced him to let you all off"
I feel so relived. Four is a lot nicer than Eric by far.
"Tris should be the one who should be punished!" Peter barks it so loud my ears pop.
"Peter, this isn't the time or the place, just because Eric won't punish you, doesn't mean he won't do it"
"Eric doesn't scare me"
"Wait until training"
Four leaves with his arms crossed. His eyes tracing mine then snapping back forward.
I look at the ground, hoping, praying Peter isn't glaring at me. It's kinda obvious that he is.
Christina holds my hand. I feel odd. Abnegation doesn't allow 'touching'. I don't push her away, it's just it feels out of my comfort zone. Although I look at myself in my spoon when I have dinner. That's different. Is it?
"What's wrong Stiff? Never held hands with someone before?"
Oh let me guess Peter. That's a rhetorical question.
"Answer me Stiff"
"Can't you just leave me alone?"
"Well you see the whole point of annoying someone is that you have to constantly bug them until they break"
"And you think you can break me?"
"Without a doubt"
"Peter leave Tris alone"
Ahhhh I just want to be left alone!
"Uh I just need some air"
I let go of Christina's hand, her eyes locked onto mine, I give her a reassuring smile as I exit the dorm and follow the path down to the pit.
The pit was enormous. People everywhere. Fighting. Talking. I just wish I could fit in and not have the label 'Stiff' attached to me anymore. I walk down the steep steps until I reached the bottom. I glace over to see Four. Standing alone. Since I don't know anyone else in the room apart from him I stride over to him.
I put my back against the wall and cross my arms.
"I thought you were supposed to stay in your dorm?"
"Complications occurred and I wanted to leave"
"Are you sure your Abnegation?"
"I'm Dauntless now"
"Well that's what Eric expects you to say"
"And what to do you expect?"
"For you to be yourself and be strong"
He walks away before I could reply. What is he? A friend or foe? He's nice yet blunt. Bitter but sweet. It kinda makes me wonder how he got into this place anyway when he shows sympathy for others but hides it with a neutral face. I guess I've got to get used to it. I'm gonna be here for a long time.
