Song: The Chainsmokers, ft. Daya -Don't let me down

-

*Lucas' point of view*

"Ally, I'm breaking up with you," I paused and waited.

"You weren't joking, you're terrible at break ups," I sighed and rubbed my face against my stuffed dolphin.

"Mom, what are you doing in my room?"

"Well, I walked by and your door isn't exactly sound proof," she explained, "if you needed help on a break up, why didn't you ask a real person?"

"Because this dolphin doesn't laugh in my face everytime I try," I set my dolphin beside my bed.

"Well, I am going to give you a practical answer. If you said that to Allison, I'm pretty sure she'd laugh too, but because she think you would be joking."

"So?..."

"So, you gotta be more serious, and let her down easy," she paused for a moment, "tell her you aren't focusing enough in school."

"Mom. You do realise I don't want to lie to her right?"

"Okay, cool. Then just look back at all those magazines and think for yourself Luke."

I was shocked. My mom never called me Luke. It always had been honey, sweetheart or Lucas, hell sometimes she even bring up my full name. My mom realised I caught on and stood up and left the room.

"All I want, is for you to be happy, and Lily's mom is working extra shifts today, Lily seemed lonely, go practise with her, she might actually help," my mom said before she reached the door knob.

"Just one problem....she won't talk to me," then it hit me, after Allison got back she never really talked to me, "mom I just realised something, thank you."

"Thank me?"

"Yeah," then I hugged her.

-

I stood infront of the wooden door. Knock? Or ring door bell? That question had been answered for me when the door opened by itself.

"Lucas?" a women asked.

"Hey Mrs Black," I smiled awkwardly, "is Allison here?"

"Lucas, I have told you many times to call me Emily. And Ally is out with her friends, they're probably at the mall," Emily said, "Lucas, is everything okay?"

"Yeah, fine, I just need to find Allison."

"Lucas, I gotta talk to you first before you talk to Allison."

"Mrs Black, I appreciate if you could let me speak to Allison and-"

"I know you're gonna break up with her," she spat.

"Alright I'm coming in."

-

"Alright this silence is unnerving, I'm just gonna say. I know Allison has been cheating on me, and I can't just stay in this country waiting for her to go back to cheating on me," I sat there waiting for her reply.

"Lucas," she began, "Allison never meant to cheat on you, but you were the only guy she did go serious with, do you really want to throw those memories away because of some dumb mistake?"

"Emily, I'm a guy with respect and loyalty. But if a girl can't even go six months without cheating on me, then the girl is not worth my time," I stood up, "I hope you can understand that."

"Lucas, just do me a favour," she stood up as well, "Do it a day before she goes back, I don't want her to stay here and cry about it and suffer."

As I approach the door, it swung open, Allison standing there facing me.

"Lucas, what are you doing here?" She smiled.

"I was looking for your mom to talk, nothing much, now if you'd excuse me, I have to go."

"Wait, before you leave. I found some tickets in your drawer, if you wanted a date, why didn't you ask?" then I realised, those tickets. It was for Lily, one of the things on that list was concerts. Damn her for searching my drawers. Luckily, the list Lily gave me were in the pockets of my pants, "Lucas?"

"Allison, those tickets. They aren't mine," I tried lying, "those were Johnson's he's going to go to the concert with his girlfriend, I'm just keeping those for them."

"Oh," was all she said.

"Now, I have to go somewhere."

-

*Lily's point of view*

"Lily, I know you're in there, I could smell popcorn on my way here." Arghh, my mom must've let him here.

"What do you want?" I said plainly and bored. I was trying to get rid of him, he has Allison, he shouldn't be bothering another girl.

"Lily, I just wanna talk. I have got some tickets, and its for a concert!" my face still read 'uninterested!', "c'mon, it was on the list and-"

"Oh god.."

"What? What's wrong?"

"Lucas! The list was a sign. You weren't suppose to ACTUALLY accomplish anything," he stared at me blankly, "I just wanted you to get out. Jesus. You're being so nice to me and we aren't even friends."

"No Lily, don't say that."

"No. Look, you have Allison, I shouldn't even have made that list," I cupped my face with my hands, "you know what, just go."

"Lily.."

"GO!" there was a long silence.

"Alright."

Lucas slammed my door, the next thing I knew, I was crying, back counting on my door to give me support, I slowly fall, landing with my butt on the floor, my hands wrapping around my knees as I hugged them tightly to my chest, and cry. What have I done.
