Chapter 9
*Trent's P.O.V.
I helped Katherine into the house and then ran back out to get her bags. I was still had doubts that Emily was okay with Katherine being around, but She insisted that she was so I didn't argue.
" You need anything out of here before I place them in the bedroom?" I asked Katherine as I walked through the door with her belongings. " Yeah just let me grab my meds so that I can take them." Katherine replied. After She took what she needed of her meds I carried her stuff into the bedroom where my Aunt was making her bed. " Thanks again Aunt Elaine." I stated greatfully to my Aunt who had opened her door to Katherine. " Oh hush. It's no biggie." Elaine admitted. Emily and I had talked about Katherine staying at our house and Emily had said it would be fine, but we both agreed that it would be awkward making love with my ex-wife just in the other room so we had asked my Aunt.
"Elaine this chowder is so delicious," Katherine complimented as my Aunt and I walked back into the kitchen where Emily had gotten Katherine and herself a bowl of the chowder she made last night. " Actually Emily made it, but I am sure anything is better than that hospital food." My Aunt Teased. "Nah, I am just kidding, Emily is turning out to be quite the little chef." My Aunt added. "That she is." I admitted as I kissed Emily on top of her head. "Very tasty Emily." Katherine stated "Well thank you." Emily smiled. "So how is your throat feeling Trent?" Katherine questioned. "Well it's getting better thanks. I am just thankful that there wasn't much damage." I supplied as I pulled up a chair at the table. "Did anybody else want a bowl of chowder?" Emily asked as she stood up to bring her bowl to the sink. "Nah, I'm good. I think I'm gonna head to the house and grab some of those brownies you made last night." I chuckled. "Ah I see. Holding out on us huh?" Katherine joked. "I will make sure I bring some up when we come back." Emily Chuckled. "Yeah if I don't eat them all first." I announced. "You better stop or you won't get none at all." Emily warned as she walked towards the door. "You think so?" I quizzed as I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder causing her to squeal. "See you later guys. I need to take this one home and show her who wears the pants." I relayed as I walked out the door.
" Oh My Stomach hurts." I grumbled as I stretched out on the couch and fiercely rubbed my abdomen. "It certainly smells like it should hurt." Emily chuckled as she plugged her nose and moved to the furthest chair away. "Eat some more brownies piggy." She teased. "But they are addicting like you." I laughed as another episode of gas escaped me. "Oh My God Trent, I think you better go check yourself." Emily said as she scrunched her nose and pulled her shirt up over it.
I started chuckling more as I watched Emily walk across the room and grab the airfreshner before spraying the entire living room with it. "Oh no." I said jumping up off the couch while holding my stomach and running to the bathroom. "Please don't forget to spray." Emily called out just before I shut the door.
" Your brownies are lethal." I scowled as I walked into the kitchen still holding my stomach.
"Well I guess they could be when someone sits down and eats a half of pan such as you did." Emily informed. "Funny." I responded as I pulled her in my arms and kissed her forehead. "Have I told you how much I love you Emily?" I asked as I pressed my forehead to hers. "I believe you have, but I am always up for a reminder." She admitted causing me to put my lips to hers and kiss her tenderly. I had just deepend the kiss and was just about ready to pick her up and carry her to the bedroom when I was interupted by the ringing of my phone which I groaned in protest before pulling it out of my pocket. " This better be important Dustin." I growled as I flipped my phone open.
"Well Hello to you to cuz." Dustin chuckled. "Listen I was wondering if you minded if I came out for a week or so." Dustin replied. It didn't take me long to think about the pros and cons of one of my favorite cousins coming out to visit as I knew I could put him to work and spend more time with my beautiful girl. " I don't mind, but hold on and let me check with the lady of the house." I relayed.
