Lucys POV
"May I go to the restroom?" I spoke hiding my fear at the thought of staying in hell for the rest of my life. As soon as the one claiming to be Natsu's brother nodded I hurriedly stood up waiting by the sealed shut door which the fairy opened. I walked out of the room hurriedly in a speed walk the fairy walking me to it, I looked around the place fascinated I had only ever known my shrine so this place was a step into the unknown for me. A solid wall made of brick I had only read about, the walls painted in a fiery hellish red, and the place was as tall as the guardian tree.
I was fascinated to know, to see more, The restroom had advanced technology I had never encountered before. Once I entered the restroom I listened for the fairy hoping she would walk away, I had to stop myself from shouting in victory when I heard Zeref call her and fly away. After thirty seconds I opened the door carefully and ran, I plan on escaping someway somehow. Even if I die trying I needed to get out of there, I saw a window and jumped in excitement as I opened the window climbing the way down as I saw the castle that towered over me.
However in that moment I couldn't stop and smell the roses I had to get out of there before they found I was gone. I ran to the place mama would tell me was the only way of escape. I would need to find Ferryman of Hades, Charon he is the only one who can take me to where the messenger of the gods Hermes leaves and goes if by chance I can catch him I could leave hell and return home. I soon left the castle grounds breathless as I followed the near by river that if fallen into you'd be lost within countless lost souls. I followed the river the way up in hopes it would lead me to the Ferryman to my delight there was the spirit himself, with his bony etched face a cloak hugging his frail body, or at least what he had left of it. I gulped down my fear once more as I realized I couldn't just waltz up to him, especially with me being well.....alive.
I decided to look around for a cloak of some sort that could hide my face, I could only cure to myself when I saw that there was nothing. I swallowed down my pride as I had an idea that I would surely regret but I knew it would get me out alive, I tore the bottom of my kimono tying it around my head covering my face partially. I walked towards it butterfly's swarming around in my chest as I felt colder and colder the closer I got to it. The thing just slouched there lifelessly even when I approached it as it seemed to be waiting for the next rider I was pretty sure it was blind due to its lack of eyes, It looked lifeless. I took a step in silently asking in the most gentle manner I could manage if he would be kind enough to take me up to the human world. I flinched as it suddenly stood up looking at me then putting his bony hands up to his ears, or at least where they would be then took his row turning away. I could only stare in confusion what did that mean?
As soon as he put rowed through the souls however I understood what he meant....the souls screamed in agony as he rowed through them, I hit the deck of the rowboat holding my ears in pain as the screaming grew stronger and stronger. My ears felt like they were about to bleed in agony, after what felt like hours the rowboat stopped and so did the screaming as the Ferryman collapsed into his old position as I wobbled out. Every thing rang around me limping from side to side collapsing the last thing I saw was the one I had longed to see, Natsu.
