I opened my eyes. I was blinded by the blazing sun shining through the transparent roof, causing my eyes to retract to the silk maroon drape hanging around my bed. I sat up, glancing at every crease of the shrine as I knitted my eyebrows together. My eyes closed tightly, attempting to gather the thoughts that seemed to be hiding; the lost ideas came to me in a sudden realization. 'I summoned a demon' Wait.....did I?....? My eyes scattered through the room when I met those of a deep red, and my heart stopped; I was genuinely panicked. Don't get me wrong, my family has planned this moment for generations, so I was genuinely amazed. But this Demon was supposed to be gone... the deal was completed with me giving him half of this life span, so why was the creature still there? Standing there, my mouth agape for a while because I was snapped out of my thoughts with a chuckle.

"When making a deal with a demon, it is not as clear cut as one with a God; demons are much more selfish."

"Is half of my life worth so little as to not be enough? What else could this deal possibly need?" The blonde demanded in disbelief.

"After traveling far and wide, decade after decade, is it so hard to accept I'd like to observe the state of my own domain? If thy claims to serve my temple so obediently, shouldn't you stand by the placement of your status?" He smirked.

"And just what does thou mean by my status?!"

"You should be able to serve the demon your family has worshiped."

Suddenly, he vanished, then a voice in a hushed tone centimeters away from my ear, "As long as I'm here, you will worship me in exchange for your wish, my maiden."

My eyes widened at the statement as my face grew a bright red; I twirled on my heel, kicking the Demon in the chest, which luckily knocked the Demon down. I smirked at the Demon, pride falling off me for knocking a monster down. My pride soon smothered down when I saw the pained expression he had turned to an amused, furious expression. He pinned me to the wall, and the Demon's appearance flared up through his eyes and roared like a dragon. The fire flowed off of him as if each spark of the fire was a raindrop amid a storm. "Learn who you're messing with...I could kill you right now before another word escaped your pretty little lips."

Tears were staining my cheeks as I stared at the Demon, "If I had known you'd be this much of an asshole, I would have never summoned, let alone worshiped you. This shrine is dying, so either helps me save it or LEAVE."

The Demon looked at me in shock, letting me go. "Whatever, just get out of my sight."

" I won't worship a demon with no respect for the ones who worship it. I summoned you to mend the ties between our realms; when you get your priorities straight, I suggest you come find me."

After that, the Demon didn't say anything, and I abandoned the shrine leaving the Demon alone again.
