Chapter 11: Jerid

Shane: Um, who is it??

Jerid: It's Jerid, open up lil bro! We need to talk!

Shane: Okay, one sec! (opens the door) Hey bro, what's up??

Jerid: I just needed to know. Are you sure your...you know, gay??

Shane: Yes, and I'm very happy with Joey! No! This isn't a phase. I'm not confused or anything. If you can't accept this or me, then I don't want you in my life or around me.

Jerid: Okay, that's good to know. And I'm afraid this is goodbye then! Or at least for now, I just can't come to terms with you being gay. I'm sorry! Goodbye Shane!

Shane: Goodbye! (closes the door behind Jerid and begins to cry)

Joey: (sees Shane crying and goes to sit next to him and comfort him) Shane, you okay? What happened??

Shane: That was my brother at the door. He came to see if I was "still gay." When I told him that I was and very happy with you, he said that was good to hear but couldn't come to accept it or me.

Joey: Oh, I'm so sorry Shane! Hey maybe he just needs time to accept it and you! He could still come around.

Shane: Yeah, he said he might. But it still hurts though! I just want to go to bed and go to sleep.

Joey: Okay, let's go to bed. I love you Shaney!

Shane: I love you too Joey! So much!!
