It was the first day of school. I was getting ready and waiting for my mom to pull up to the house to drive my sister, Brianna, and I too school. My sister was 13 and annoying, and always knew how to test my nerves.
"Brianna get out of my bathroom! It's not my fault you broke the lights in yours!" I screamed banging on the door.
She ignored me, as she blasted her music louder. I rolled my eyes and walked back into my room and picked out my outfit for the first day of school.

As I grabbed my outfit, I got a text from Liz asking for a ride : lizzy : hey ari can i get a ride to school? my mom isn't home at the moment.
I replied in a matter of seconds. me : sure liz, I'll be there around 7. x
I sighed, shutting my phone. I wish Lizzy's mom was in her life more. It really sucks for Liz, dealing with her parents constant bickering.
After of what felt like millions of years Brianna finally walked out of the bathroom, and I rushed back in before she walked back in.
I brushed my teeth, changed, put my hair in a high pony, and sat in my kitchen table waiting for mom to show up.
*later* The door opened and I realized it was mom. "Hey mom." I waved at her, and grabbing my bag to step into the car.
"On the way can we get Lizzy, her mom isn't home." She nodded, walking back into the car, with Brianna following behind her.

As Liz walked out, she looked cute with her outfit on.

"Aye girl, I see you!" I laugh moving a seat away for her to get into the car.
"Are you girls excited?" Mom asked. "Hopefully no one picks on us." Liz says. "Liz we'll be fine." I say giving her a reassuring smile.
We didn't know that then.
