'Danielle Michael Ashton!'

As soon as those words left Nat's mouth I knew I was in trouble. So without saying anything I stayed on the phone and listened to his banter quietly.

'Do you have any idea how worried we were? Where the hell did you go? And why did you leave without us? Do you not remember this was supposed to be the make up birthday party for Angie? Do you have any idea how bad She's feeling? Do you even care? I don't even know you anymore. Who are you and what you did with my best friend?'

'I know I screwed up Nat. Please just give a chance to explain about it. I didn't do it in purpose, okay. It just slipped off my mind and ....'

'Slipped off your mind? Is that what it was? Oh C'mon Dan I thought you were smarter than this, at least come up with a nice explanation.'

'Nat can we please talk about it tomorrow. I promise I'll explain it to you and Angie. And I'll make it up to you guys.'

'Uh I don't know Dan, because I'm afraid you'll again vanish somewhere and all you'll say afterwards is that we slipped off your mind!'

'I know I'm probably the worst friend you've ever said but please just this one last time forgive me. I beg you.'

'Fine but on one condition.'

'Anything!'

'You'll take us to 'Sunrise Cafe' and it'll be your treat.' Oh man he was really making it hard for me.

'Not even in your dreams!' I would rather go back to the police station than actually go that cafe.

'Now it's up to you Dan either you take us there or never talk to us again.'

'This blackmailing! You know I can't go in there.'

'Well if you don't want to go then it was nice talking to you.....'

'You are impossible! Fine I'll take you guys there. Are you happy?' I have no idea why I said yes but I knew I was going to regret this.

'Very happy!' He exclaimed with excitement. '

'I'll pick you guys up tomorrow evening sharp at 6:00, is that okay?'

'It's more than okay. I'm so excited. See you tomorrow!' With that he ended the call.

I sighed. Tomorrow was going to be the longest day ever. I had a lot on my plate for tomorrow and I had no idea what the hell am I going to do about it. In order to sort things out I first wrote the statement that I had to give to the police station. At least they'll leave me early and then I can reach the bureau on time. After writing I slept as for tomorrow to work I needed my sleep. As soon as I lay on my bed my eyes became heavy and I drifted of to sleep.

'Triiiiiinnnnnnn' yup that was my alarm. It was a bit irritating but then it did it's work perfectly so I didn't mind it much. I pulled out of bed got ready for work today was the day I was going to be where I belonged. You see there are a lot of people who would go to a boring nine to five job and won't even consider working with intelligence bureau a proper job. But for me it was the other way round. I always wanted be there, helping people may be one of the reasons for it but the other was the thrill that it brought in my life. So this was the very first day of my thrilling life and I was going to make the most of it.

With that thought I left for work. 'Work' how good it felt to say that. But first I moved to police station as I had to submit the statement first.

'Excuse me?' I said to the first officer I saw in the station. In return he only raised an eyebrow.

'Is officer Ryan here? I need to submit this statement to him.' I said showing him the statement.

'Ryan's out for some work. He told me you would be here. I would collect the statement and you can leave then.' He explained.
