Chapter 12: toublesome-one-some

Rin gloomily walked into her next class, still fatigued and dejected after last night's argument with her brother. She had to do something to help him.

What if I do his chores for him?...
Or I can cook for him more.
Possibly give him my class notes?

Rin looked blankly at the window next to where she sat while rapidly tapping her pencil.
The talking volume quickly started to increase as more people entered the classroom, but volume never truly mattered to anyone except the teachers and quite students who never did anything wrong, inside of school at the least.
But today, there was an exception; Rin was being nagged by the squabbling of her peers. Was it that she just noticed how obnoxious her class was? Was it just because she was tired? Or something else?
Rin examined the room.
Everyone seemed to be paired up, in clusters and groups of three, even. Some groups where just talking, but most where dishing out quiz questions and having lightning-speed answers, and brutally slamming the tables with their hands when they had the answer.
"Hey~hey! Rin-chan, do you wanna study with me?" Teto chirped as she pulled a seat over to Rin's desk.
"Uh..sure, I guess." Rin drowsily said while getting out her math textbook.
"Are you ok? You don't seem well." Teto examined her friend as she pulled out her notes.
"Ya, I'm fine. Just a little migraine and sleep deprived, nothing I can't handle."

" knowing you for my whole life, I can tell that's a lie. What's going on? Did your parents check in with you recently?"

Rin quickly raised her eyebrow.

"Why would my parents' praise keep me sleep deprived?"

"Well, your parents are mega strict, and not to mention they expect you and Len to have grades higher then the whole class' score points combined." Teto stated a bit sarcastically.

"They just want the best for us." Rin assured her friend. "My parents don't hate their children. At least they don't hate me..."

Teto's eyes widened and she grinned a devilish grin.
Teto was attracted to gossip like a moth attracted to light.
" What happened with Len?" Teto whispered.
Rin got closer to Teto to share the news about Len.
"Well, I don't think anyone knows about this other then the people involved, so keep quite about it." Rin warned Teto before going on.
"Fine, I promise."

"Good.  Ok, so my brother has been tutoring Hatsune-san for a while. She's been staying over very late, pretty much over-staying her visit if you ask me, and she's been staying so long that it keeps my brother up past our curfew working on homework and studying hours past midnight. He also snapped at me yesterday, I don't want to get in to much detail, but by what he said, he cares more about Hatsune-san then himself. I don't want to sound like my parents, but if he keeps this up, I swear he might ruin the Kagamine name for good."

Teto covered her mouth in shock.
"Neru would not wanna hear that." Teto then snickered a tiny bit.

"That's painfully true, Neru's crush on him has grown larger by the day, and she's been surprisingly more....um... intuitive about him."

Teto snorted and covered her mouth trying to keep herself from laughing, causing Rin to laugh as well.

" Yesterday, when I mentioned him at lunch, her face got so red that the lunch monitor sent her to the clinic to get her temperature."  Teto quietly tried to say as well as keeping her giggles to a minimum.

" An-and the part where she covered her nose when she had to walk past him...I bet, she had a nosebleed." Rin giggled.

"Hey, speaking of Neru-chan..is she absent today? I haven't seen her in any of my classes, but that's understandable because she did say she did have a 'doctor's appointment'  before we talked about Len at lunch.." Teto got her mechanical pencil and then started her study guide.
Rin rolled her eyes.
"More like her weekly pedicure day...jeez, that girl is so spoiled sometimes." Rin fumed. " and she shouldn't be skipping school during the mid term season. It's like she doesn't even care about her grades, and only about getting a chance to make goo-goo eyes at my brother and getting her nails done."
