Chapter 3
Months went by so fast and I was able to live my life the way I want it. I no longer think about him too much. No more happy nor sad memories with him. I just live my life one day at a time. I live like I should be...happy... with the ones who never left me.
Mr. Whoever it was in the Café (Yes... that's how I call him) never tried to reach me after that incident and it didn't really matter that much. I mean he might just be one of those people who happens to pass by quickly in our life to teach us a lesson.
I had never seen him... until today. I went inside the café near our office to order my favorite frappe when I saw him. He was sitting a few tables away from the counter and he was talking to a woman, a pretty woman. He looked like he was actually having fun so I didn't bother to say Hi. I bet he doesn't even remember me anymore.
I went straight into the counter and ordered. All of the staffs here knows me because I'm a regular. I come here almost every day. I even came here during those sorrowful times just to get myself together. "The usual please." I told the staff assigned to me. "Coming right up." She said. "I see you're in good shape again. That's good." She started. I smiled at her. A grateful kind of smile. She's one of those very few people who still talked to me when I was really down. She's really nice. A year younger than me but thinks more maturely. "Thank You" I told her. "Your words really hit me you know... Now I'm able to live again thanks to you and all the others."
"I'm just glad you're back. I don't have a sister but I found a sister in you. Thank you. Anyway...someone's been looking at you since you entered the café. Do you know him?" I was taken aback by the question so I turned my head to see who she was referring to and then I saw him. He was looking at me intently.
"No, I don't." I told her.
"You're lying!" she said. "Don't lie to me. You know I'd know when you're lying."
"Fine, I met him months ago in a café across town. It was only for a short while so I thought I'd never see him again." I told her annoyed at her playfulness.
She's just a tease sometimes...especially now that I'm single like her. Before, she was very vocal that she doesn't trust my ex. It's like she could see right through the person if he's seriously for you or will just be a part of your life. I don't really know how she'd do it but it was already proven many times so I trust her judgement. I just don't tell her that.
"Well... Someone's coming. I should probably give you your frappe now or you'll be late for work. Here...Ciao!" she said then left me.
I was on my way to the door when someone suddenly decided to step in and block me.
"Excuse me?" I said. I didn't need to look at the face of the person blocking me because I already know who he is.
"Excuse me." I said again a little irritated. I only have 15 minutes left and this person didn't move a single inch acting like a wall in the doorway.
He's facing me so I'm absolutely sure he knows I'm there and I'm absolutely sure he intentionally block me.
"Mr.... I....."
"Come with Me" he said not waiting for me to finish my dialogue.
"Ëxcuse me?"
"Come with me."
"Are you crazy?"
"No ... (silence)... Come with me"
"Seriously? ... NO! ... now excuse..."
"I'm not asking for your permission. I'm just telling you.. Now Come With Me..."
"I don't care. I said no... Now let me pass or I'll be late for work."
"You'll come with me or I'll kiss you in front of these people" he said finally frustrated. I was shocked. How arrogant this man is.
He's not the same man I met a few months ago. That man who kept me company was funny, easy-going, and a little serious but chill.
This man on the other hand looks so serious, demanding, frustrating, infuriating and most of all arrogant.
I don't know why out of all the people here in this café he chose to bother me. Here I thought he doesn't remember me anymore.
I look around inside and saw the girl he was talking to earlier shocked with his behavior. I gestured for her to stop him but she just smiled at me. (REALLY??... tsssssss..)
After a long moment of contemplating if he was serious or not he suddenly come closer to me. Closer and closer and closer until he was just a few inches away.
"Do you really wanna be kissed in front of these crowd? ... You know I won't mind..."he whispered to my ear. I froze for a moment not knowing how to react.
This man is so damn crazy. I thought. "Fine! It better be just for a few minutes so I won't be late for work." I told him.
"Oh don't worry... I already called your company... They said you can have the day off. You can call them later to confirm.
We better go or we'll be late."
"Okay... wait... what??!! ... You called our company to ask for my day off? Why would you even do that? ... Oh my Gosh! This is insane..." How can he have such power in the company I'm working? Or did he really do that? Maybe it's just a joke... I thought to myself. It's just a joke.
"I'm not joking if that's what you're thinking. I called my friend earlier when I saw your name in your I.D. Fortunately he's working in your company too. Let's go" he said as if to answer my thoughts. Is he a Psychic or something??
I don't really know why I agreed to go with him. Maybe because of the authority in his voice or that I don't want a scandalous scene inside my favorite café. Or maybe I am curious.
