"Then do it!!" Michael demanded. There was silence. "I knew it!!" continued Michael, "nothing, no help at all," but then realized everything had stopped and there was a silence around them that he had never heard before. He looked out of the waiting room and it was if time had stopped, nothing was moving everything had frozen in time. "YOU DOUBT ME, BUT YET YOU STILL CALL ON ME" the voice said now standing behind him. Michael turned around and saw standing in front of him a young guy about his age smiling at him, Hayley clung to Michael like a barnacle.
"DOES THIS MAKE YOU HAPPIER SAID THE VOICE." " Not really" Michael said looking at him "and you’re not what I expected, but now that you are here I ought to beat your brains out for what you are putting us through." Hayley held onto Michael to make sure that he didn’t do anything stupid, and looking around she noticed that both Stu and Michael’s Moms were frozen in time as well, she was confused and asked "why am I not like them?" "YOU ARE NEEDED AND YOU ARE HIS CALMING INFLUENCE AND THE VOICE OF REASON." "Why are you doing this? asked Hayley. "MANY YEARS AGO I TOO WAS LIKE MICHAEL AND WAS SAVED BUT I DID NOT LISTEN TO MY GUIDING VOICE AND MADE A WRONG DECISION AND I AM NOW BOUND TO HELP THOSE WHO HAVE DIFFICULT DECISIONS TO MAKE." "You aren’t doing very well this time either" said Michael "IT SEEMS THAT WAY I KNOW BUT THERE IS LITTLE I CAN DO." Hayley was curious "do you have a name?" she asked "I DO BUT I HAVEN’T BEEN CALLED BY IT FOR MANY YEARS." " Now you want to get personal with this, this, whatever he is" groaned Michael, "be quiet"! snapped Hayley , Michael looked at Hayley and was about to respond but noticed a look in her eyes he had never seen before and decided that now was not a good time. "What is your name?" she asked the voice "IT’S JAMES."
"Well James you cannot leave Michael just to save Stu, Michael is right Stu would never forgive him is there nothing that can be done to save them all." James disappeared, "what good is he, he’s never around long enough to answer anything" snorted Michael. Everything remained in limbo with Hayley and Michael looking at each other for what seemed an eternity. "THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE" James had returned, "THIS WILL HOWEVER CAUSE YOU GREAT SORROW UNLESS WE ARE VERY CAREFUL." "We’ve got to try no matter what the consequences are" said Michael "I would give anything to save them all" "and so would I" said Hayley, "NO MATTER WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES?" Yes they said. "THEN WE ARE ALL BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT." James disappeared and both Stu and Michael’s Moms were released from there static prison "what’s going on?" said Stu’s Mom "I thought for a second I saw someone with you."
YOU DID AND YOU KNOW WHO I AM responded James who was now just a voice again, yes she said and I understand now. Understand what? said Michael, not now said Stu’s Mom we all have things to do, they all looked at her quizzically. IF WE ARE TO DOTHIS THEN LET US DO IT NOW. They all went back into where Stu and Jane were laying. They were so still as if they were sound asleep and there was the sound of the life support machines that were breaking the silence. Silence was again amongst them and time began again with movement outside once again.
