*Percy POV*

Out of all the girls I could have started to have feelings for, why did it have to be Artemis? Did I do something to anger the Fates? Yeah, I may or may not have called them creepy, but did I really deserve to fall for some one that won't ever love me?

My rambling in my head was stopped when Artemis and I started to slow dance. When our bodies touched, I felt fireworks in my stomach. Her soft hair rested on my cheek, she smelled like cinnamon. I could also make out the smell of the forest. I never really liked that smell until I joined Artemis. Now a days,  I can't get enough of it. It was addictive.

I wished for once in my life that time could just stop. Everything was amazing. I had Artemis, and thats all I wanted.

My perfect night was ruined by a large flashing light. At first I thought some douche was shining the lights on me and Artemis, it was then I opened my eyes to see Apollo. He wore a tus and had on a pair of fake glasses, in his right hand was a ruler.

"You know, I always was a fan of the one foot rule." He spreaded Artenis and I apart and stuck the ruler in between us.

"Apollo I swear!" Artemis yelled.

He put a finger on her mouth, "Shush! I don't want to hear your sass!"

I laughed, it was cute how he was trying to protect her, "Don't worry Apollo. I won't try anything." I smiled. Even though he could be extremely annoying, he wasn't such a bad guy.

I thought he was going to stare at us the whole time. That was when he got distracted by one of the actual chaperones. She wasn't to bad looking either for being older. (Don't tell Artemis!)

After he left, Artemis landed her head on my chest, "He is insufferable!" Her muffled cries erupted.

I gave her hug, "He is just protecting his little sister."

She looked at me with her nose scrunched, "I am older and you know that!"

Apollo flashed next us, "NO HUGS!"

"Apollo," Artemis said calmly, "I understand you are trying to protect me, but could you let me and Percy have this one night." She said desperately.

Why was she so adamant about being with me? Does she? No... She could like me, she a maiden for crying out loud. But the way she looked at me when we danced. The desperation in her voice, the way her cheeks turned red. Could she really like me?

"Hmmmm," Apollo said staring at us, "Fine! For tonight, I will turn a blind eye."

"Thank you brother!" Artemis said.

But it was to late, the song was already over.

"Thanks for everyone for coming out, round of aplause for the Hunters and Greeks!" Reyna said with a grin onher face.

The crowd roaredwith clapping and whoops, "May the Greeks and Romans have great luck with their endeavors!" Frank said.

And with that, the party was over.
Everyone started to file out of the building.

"Damn Apollo." Artemis said bitting her bottom lip.

A idea sparked, "Hey don't worry, Apollo said he would turn a blind eye for the rest of the night."

"So what? The dance is over..." She pouted.

"Chin up, I have a idea." I grabbed her hand and led her throughout New Rome. I went to the Gardens of Bacchus. Annabeth told me once about how beautiful it was. Was it bad of me for taking another girl?

"We can have one last dance here." I said nervously.

She blushed, "Sounds like a plan."

I put my arms even lower than before, Artemis speezed herself onto my shoulders. Her cinnamon and forest scent... I couldn't get enough of it.

I slowly hummed Fly me to the moon as a joke.

She laughed, "You know that was actually a love song for me?"

"Say what?"

"Frank Sinatra wrote that song to try to woo me." She said shaking her head.

"Wasn't he married?" I asked.

"Like five times..." she said, "The nerve of men."

That got me scared, she must of figured I was.

"I guess all men aren't so bad." She said looking up.

We stopped slow dancing and stared into each other's eyes. I could feel myself going closer and closer. I stopped when our noses touched. My body felt warm inside, I even felt her shake.

"Percy..." she wispered.

I couldn't predict what was going to happen next. She leaned in and kissed me.

I didn't kiss back at first, manly out of shock, but eventually I kissed back. Percy Jasckson, the first kid on earth to kiss the moon.

Her hands ran through my messy hair. Was this really happening? How on Earth did I get the most perfect woman in existence to kiss me? It seamed just like a dream.

Even though I didn't want to, we pulled away.

She then bit her lip and grabbed her hair. "I'm so sorry Percy, That was a mistake." She flashed out of the garden.

I could feel my happiness shatter. My amazing night was ruined by "a mistake" I know she didn't mean it to hurt my feelings, I still felt like shit. I shouldn't have pressed on like I did. This was all my fault.

I punched the nearest tree in frustration. It was my fault, all my fault.
