Chapter 7

We walked through the hallway to the only door that was there, then went outside. There were older kids collecting food off the trees

and the younger kids were running around underneath the trees playing tag or eating apples. It was peaceful but I wondered where the

adults were, there was only kids everywhere. "Where are the adults?" I asked looking around through the trees and observing how this

community worked. "There are no adults, all of us were pulled away from our families at a young age. Don't bring it up around the

younger kids some of them are still getting over losing their parents." Tommy said pleadingly to me. We continued walking through the

forest with stares coming my way. It made me uneasy, have you ever gone to a new school and everyone stares at you like you've got

three heads? That's how this was but ten times worse because this was an entirely whole new community where you all live together

and see each other every single day. There was a clearing ahead of us that opened to a lake area where I got kicked in the jaw by that

girl.


"Hey! Who was that girl that round housed my face?!" I asked angrier then I intended. "Hey calm down man. Her name is Alyssa,

okay? We're going to meet her now!" Tom said surprised by my lashing out at him. "Sorry, I just got a little angry at the memory of

having my jaw broken by a girl." I started walking towards the edge of the lake contemplating on what the hell was going on. I looked

up to the ceiling of the bowl we were stuck in like animals stuck in a cage at a zoo. My instincts told me that there were cameras in the

trees but also told me not to search for them because that would draw attention to me which wouldn't be a good thing, the best action

to take is to just lie low. This entire thing is complete insane why would they put a bunch of kids in a dome, unless...unless they were all

like me! I couldn't believe that there were others like me, how could I not know this, but why haven't they changed into giants and

smashed the dome or flown out through that tunnel going up into the Naval base on the "island".


I focused, but it was difficult this time though, there was nothing driving me giving me that power of change. I envisioned a falcon

flying high into the sky, this helped me starts to change into that animal or changing my features. I started to shrink down slowly but

there was a large shock through my body and I immediately stopped changing and I reverted back to my regular size. I screamed out

loud and I heard footsteps come my way and kids shouting for help, I started getting up and making my body heal from the burns the

shocks made on me. I opened up my eyes and saw the most beautiful girl I've seen in my life.


"Hey there, you know you're not supposed to try to morf right?" She said, I barely listened to what she said. Her beauty was

breathtaking, I didn't even notice the pain going through my arm still. "Did anyone show him the initiation video? No? Well someone

bring him to see it now. I'm Bridget and I'm the leader here and I'm 15." She was only 15 and leader of these kids? That's a

responsibility I wouldn't be able to become a leader. There was a loud noise coming from the hole in the ceiling that made my ears feel

like they were bleeding! "Hello mutants," it was Richard Cargin, "As you have already noticed you have a new member to your

community. His name is William and is just like you, maybe even more powerful. Treat him well, or we will take more than one of you

per month for experiments." That bastard! He kills off these kids just for experiments. Like we're animals! I was going to kill that man,

I was going to kill him and any other dickhead who was killing us off for experiments. What I didn't know was that my plans were

gonna change quicker than I could say revenge.
