Hey, you good?" Keegan heard a voice say as he heard the hinges of the old wooden screen door behind him creak open. Lost in his own thoughts, it took him a moment before his brain finally recalled the question that had been asked of him a moment prior.

"Mhmm," he said as turned to the back of his large wooden chair to face the girl who had posed him the question. He simply just raised his brows while drinking the lukewarm coffee up to his lips, some of it dribbling into the short hairs of his beard in response.
"God, I'm so glad we came out here, huh?" Troian asked, her words presenting themselves as more of a question than she had originally intended them to. Her arms sat pressed against her chest, her arms growing chillier as she spent more time in the brisk morning air of the mountains.

It had been nice to get away from the city for a while, and God knew how much they both needed it. The fans they both had from the show were always so generous, but when someone offered them a condo for the weekend in Idaho, they were reluctant to accept but needing the break.

Both of their eyes took in the view in front of them, scanning and taking in the scenery like they hadn't noticed it before. "May I?" Troian asked Keegan as she took a step forward, pointing to the coffee mug that was glued to his hand. She didn't wait for his response before she gingerly pulled it out of his grasp and took a small sip.
"There's a fresh pot in there if you're thirsty," he mumbled. She smiled and once again folded her arms to hug her chest.
"I'll see you in a minute then," she said as she pulled the light door open.
Within a second, it seemed, Troian was back with a steaming cup of caffeine.
"Back so soon?" He asked as she eased herself into the chair beside him, curling her legs beneath her. She looked at him for a moment, a quizzical expression present on her face. But as quickly as it had appeared, it was gone once again. He wanted to ask her about it, but decided against it, figuring it had probably been more time than he'd originally thought. His perception of time had been super off lately.
"I can't believe, that in a few weeks, this will all be over," Troian sighed, talking more to herself that the man next to her.

"Keegs?" Troian's voice pulled him out of his daydream. Had he said something? His face flushed red in embarrassment due to what he'd been thinking about.

"I have to break up with her," he said softly, nearly in a whisper. He was afraid to look at her, but when he eventually did her eyes were simply transfixed on his ocean blue ones. His eyes met hers and she smiled a sad smile as she felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach. "I'm sorry. I know that must be hard," she said, swallowing thickly.

"You know, I heard the oddest thing the other day," Keegan said, guiding the conversation in a different direction.
"Hmmm? And what's that?" Troian said, looking up at him with a sarcastic quizzical look on her face.
"Someone told me that you wanted Spoby or Spooby or however the hell you say it to break up." She couldn't quite tell if the anger that he portrayed was false, but regardless, she simply stood up and walked the the banister of the porch they were on, setting her mug on the edge of the railing.
"Oh yeah?" she finally said, running her hands down the length of the varnished railing. He nodded, despite knowing that at her vantage point she couldn't see him. She continued. "Well people change. People grow up. Maybe at one point, Toby was the one she'd die for. But maybe now it was time for Spencer to be with someone else," she said very carefully, still unsure on if his reaction had been sincere.
"Or maybe," Keegan said, coming to join Troian at the railing but not quite ready to continue his thought.
"Maybe..?" Troian tried to prompt him to say more.
"Maybe Spencer was conflicted on where to draw the line," he finally said, aware that he was walking on thin ice.
"Maybe Spencer was tired of kissing Toby," Troian fired back, angry at what her costar was implying.
"Maybe," Keegan said, tucking a strand of Troian's soft hair behind her ear, "that's because Troian wanted more." A scoff came to her lips in response to that comment, but it was quickly escaped as a small gasp as all the air left her lips when he pulled her into a kiss. She felt all l of the air leave her body as she leaned into his lips.
"I- I really shouldn't," Troian said suddenly, just after their lips met.
"I'm sorry," Keegan said, rubbing the back of his neck, like he always did when things got awkward.
I'm not, she thought. "Yeah," was all she managed to say. She suddenly missed the feeling of his unscripted lips against hers.
He turned to leave, but her hand caught his first.
"Now's just not a good time," she said slowly. He nodded solemnly in response, and went inside as fast as he could manage.
