I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm.

I groaned and picked up my pillow and threw it at the noisy object. When it continued going off, I groaned louder before lifting my hand and smashing it down on the source of the noise.

In an instant, it stopped, after a loud crashing sound I had made when destroying my alarm.

Damnit. Now I have to buy another one.

I closed my eyes in the hopes of getting more sleep, snuggling deeper under my blanket.

"Faye!" I heard Ethan yell. "Get your ass up or I'm pouring vervain on you!"

My eyes shot open in fear while getting up and off my bed in vampire speed.

Vervain is a herb, and also a vampire's most well known weakness. Vervain, if touched by a vampire, can cause our skin to burn. If a human has ingested vervain and a vampire feeds on them, the vampire is affected within seconds and extremely weakened. If a human ingests or holds vervain somewhere on their body (holding it in a hand or pocket or wearing it in jewelry), the human is protected by vampire complusion and entitled to free will.

Vervain is one of the few things I fear. It's horrible, and I hate how humans can drink it or wear it and prevent us from compelling them.

Well that got me up. I rolled my eyes and trudged to the bathroom slowly, wanting to take my time.

After taking a half an hour shower, and brushing my teeth, I decided to get dressed. I dressed into a pair of maroon colored skinny jeans, a black long sleeved crop top that goes just above my belly button, a black leather jacket, and a pair of black suede chunky high heels that have laces.

After changing and admiring my appearance in the mirror, I walked back to the bathroom and got out my straightening iron.

I clamped it shut while a piece of my hair was in it. I repeated the process throughout my whole hair, before getting out a hair tie. I brought my hair up and tied it into a slicked back high ponytail, my long hair straightened to perfection.

I got out my makeup bag and started working on my eyes, doing a smokey eye with the colors black and white. I reached for my black liquid eyeliner and made an almost perfect line across my eyes, winging it out. I got out some black mascara and applied some to my eyelashes, making them fuller and much longer. For the finishing touch, I applied some bright red lipstick to my heart shaped lips, giving my makeup look the full effect.

Smiling, I looked myself up and down in my full length mirror, attached to the wall in my room.

I snatched my new bookbag, a long brown purse that hangs on my shoulder, ending at my hips, and made my way out of my room in search for Ethan.

I found him in the kitchen, drinking from a blood bag.

He looked up and studied me. "You look nice today. There's some blood bags in the fridge, and your lunch is on the counter."

I smiled genuinely. "Thanks, and ok."

I opened the door of the refridgerator and grabbed two blood bags before taking my lunch (a sandwhich and cookies) off of the counter.

After sitting down at our wooden dinner table in front of Ethan, I placed my mouth on the tube of the blood bag and began sucking the red liquid into my mouth.

"Remember what I said last night, no trouble." Ethan reminded.

I nodded while shoving the now empty blood bag away, and snatching my second one.

"Will do," I muttered, taking a couple of sips.

I started feeling more energized thanks to the blood.
