Chapter 27

I woke up this morning and Jake wasn't there. I walked to the living room to see him cuddling with my little girl who was in pain.

"You can go back to bed tiger." Jake said to me.

"Jake I'm not going back to bed you idiot." I snapped at him.

"Look I'm not trying to get you to go away. I just don't want you to worry too much." Jake said. He kissed my forehead.

"I've never hurt Aubrey and I never will. She's safe tiger. Get some rest and relax. Please." Jake said softly.

"Fine. I swear if she even looks like you did something..." I said glaring at him.

He hugged me.

"She's fine with me." He promised and I nodded walking to the bathroom.

I quickly got ready and ate breakfast. I can't take it anymore. I need to check on my baby.

I walked to the living room to see her still cuddling with Jake.

"Baby are you hungry or thirsty?" He asked. Aubrey nodded.

"Can I get pancakes?" She asked quietly.

"Sure baby." Jake said smiling at her. He's so good with Aubrey. Aubrey smiled a bit and I snuck in when he left.

"Hey." I said smiling.

"Audrey." Aubrey said smiling wide. She jumped on me and hugged me tight.

"I missed you baby." I said. "Me too. Jake said you were relaxing. He said you needed a break. I was ok with that but I still wanted to see you." Aubrey said smiling.

"Tiger." Jake said.

"I wanted to see her." I said quietly.

"Fine. But you don't have to do anything. I got it." Jake said chuckling.

I nodded.

"He didn't hurt you right?" I asked. "No. He's a bigger strong teddy bear." Aubrey answered with a toothy grin.

"See." Jake said smirking.

"Ok. Thanks Jake. I really appreciate it." I said. I grabbed his face and pecked his lips.

"Love you." I said smiling.

"Love you too tiger." Jake said smiling.

Coach still made us go to practice even though we all had free days on Friday.

I saw Alexa trying to blend in but you can't do that when you have a jersey saying what your last name is and that's the only thing the coach calls you by.

"Hey Brooks! On the bench." Coach said.

"I'm going to fucking strangle you." Alexa said to Jayden making me laugh.

Jay smiled and pecked her lips making her blush.

"I'm not supposed to have butterflies when I'm angry!" Alexa yelled flailing arms. Alexa glared at Jayden before walking to the bench.

"She's having her time of the month." Jayden said amused.

"I'm gonna be right back." I said quietly.

"Aubrey is fine. You just relax tiger." Jake said and I nodded quietly.

"You'll see her after practice." Jake promised.

"Yes James now get to position! There's a game next Friday!" Coach yelled.

I nodded and a question slipped my mind. A question that had never slipped because I'm crazy about Aubrey. A question that needs to be answered before I get out of college.
