Selena's POV
That night I went home and showered had dinner and went to bed
I couldn't sleep at all
And when I finally managed to fall asleep I woke up sweating and my heart racing and scared for some reason
I got up and went to the kitchen for a glass of water maybe a spoon of pb too
As I walked to the cabinet I rubbed my eyes a d filled the glwith tap water when I turned around I nearly jumped out of my skin and dropped the glass
"SHIT!" I screamed as glass covered floor
"WHAT THE HELL MAN!HOW DID YOU GET INTO MY APARTMENT!" I yelled not caring if my neighbors heard
He just starred at me
"Um...hello do you even talk?" I said
jumping on the counter so i wasn't stepping in broken glass
I jumped on the from the counter I was on to my island and then hopped off standing nearly in front of him
He just starred has I was examining him i noticed his arm.....it was metal......it was the man from my thoughts
"Who are you and why are you here?" She said a little worried backing up to the knifes
"I wouldn't do that if i were you" he said leaning forward
She stopped in her movements and continued to stare "Who are you?"
"The question is who are you and why won't you get out of my head?"he said in a raspy voice
"I could ask the same for you" I said standing tall and confident now
He stood up much taller than me,he moved to where he was directly in front of me
Making me feel like a mouse next to a lion......he starred at me until he lifted his arm up I closed my eyes so I didn't have to see what he was going to do
I woke up with a jolt
Breathing uncontrollably I put my hands on my head and laid back down trying to calm down
I walked into the kitchen and saw the glass on the floor.....it wasn't a dream......who is he.......and why are we somehow connected to each other?I thought to myself starting o clean the glass up off the floor
When I finished I got ready for work. Today was Saturday so I didn't have school but I had work great I thought to myself
I work at an animal shelter helping animals is always something I'm up for!

After work I walked home and took my time
It was dark now probably about 9pm
I turned around to find someone behind me in a black hoodie. At first I didn't care, I don't like to judge people on how they looked at first sight unless I got this really bad vibe coming from them but that was rare
He started walking closer and I smiled gently at the man in the black hoodie
He grabbed my arm and swing me around to face him with a gun pointed at my head
"Give me all your money now!"
"Okay okay just let me go please" I said pleading to him
I was so scared,I feared that I would die
Now I know to always have my damn pepper spray with me all the damn time especially this late at night
I closed eyes as I handed him the money, he let go of me and I watched as he faded into dark night. "Fuck!" I yelled as loud as I could that was basically all my damn money besides like maybe 30 dollars at home
I gave him 60dollars in cash I'm so stupid!
I got home and slid down the door once I closed it. What just happen basically ruined my damn day even tho the day was almost over
I changed and made dinner, it felt chilly but the ac was only about 75° so I didn't understand then I saw a window open
"Oh I'm stupid" I said talking to myself I turned around and jumped
"Damit!asshole what the hell!" I said almost yelling looking at Lincoln
"Ha!I scared you didn't I!" He said dying of laughter
I rolled eyes "shut up" I said playfully pushing his shoulder
"You know I have a door right?" I said raising an eyebrow
"I know but-" he said freezing up
"Lincoln you okay?..." I said stepping closer to him he was looking at something behind me
"What is it?" I said looking into his eyes now but then realizing I needed to turn around to see what he was looking at. I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe before turning around slowly as soon as I was facing the other direction I opened my eyes
It was him. The man from last night.
"You know you should really knock before you come in my house" I said looking at him now a little more comfortable speaking to him
Lincoln looked at me like I was crazy he had obviously seen him arm
I started walking past Lincoln to get something when he grabbed wrist
"You know this guy"he said scared shitless
I laughed a bit and smiled "Lincoln there are obviously reasonable explanations for this kinda stuff" I said winking at him
He looked at me like I was crazy
"I think you should leave Lincoln i need to speak with.......this man" I said being serious now
"Hell no!I'm not leaving you with this crazy ass person!" He began to shout to which the man tilted his head to the comment Lincoln had made about him being crazy
Like he was hurt by that word crazy
"Hes not crazy Lincoln I'll be fine I promise" I said walking up to him to reassure him
"I'm not crazy..." He whispered to himself putting his head down
"Sure you aren't! You have a fucking metal arm!your a freak of nature!get out of her apartment now!" Lincoln yelled at the man as he stepped closer to him
"Lincoln get out now!" I said stepping in front of him
I don't know why I was protecting this mystery man but I felt like I need too
"Really selena! Do you even know his fucking name!?probably not right, I mean im just your best friend not wanting you to end up dead in the morning cause of this a psycho!" He said getting in my face
"If your were my best friend you would understand that I need to speak to......to.." I said trying to figure out his name outta no where the name James flashed through my head
"James. I need to speak with James alone and hes not a freak you asshole! Hes just different like me!now get out or your going to regret it." I said looking him dead in his eyes
He left with out saying word which I was glad of
Once he left I turned and looked at James who was looking me dead in the eyes
"How did you know my name?" He asked me
"I-I don't know...it just came to me I guess" I said looking down now
He handed me money....
I looked at him confused "what's this for" I said now looking up again
"Ugh your money from when the man took it...I got it back for you" he said gesturing to his had again for me to take it
I was really happy"oh. Thank you james "I said smiling " wait....you were following me?"I asked confused now
"I wasnt following you more as in protecting you" he said moving closer to me
"Well if you were supposedly 'protecting' me why isn't you help me when that man mugged me" I said raising an eyebrow at him
"I knew he wouldn't hurt you" he said moving a little closer to my face now we were only inches away from each other
"James" I said
"Yes" he said back
"Why do I need to be protected?" You said worrying about his answer now
"There are people out there who don't like you Selena and if they find you they will kill you" he said
"Well that escalated quickly" I said looking down afraid now felling like I need to flee
"But that's why I'm here" he said lifting my chin up with his hand
"I'm going to protect you from any harm Selena"
"You need to pack up all the things you'll need not the junk and be ready in an hour" he said walking away from me now
"What?why the hell do I need to pack my things" I said a little freaked out
"Do you want to die?" He said bluntly
"No.." I said looking down
"Then start packing now" he said
As soon as he finished talking I walked into my bed room packing almost everything that I'll need or think I'll need
