Remember the Rewards that comes along with following these Dares.
May Allah(SWT) Shower His Choicest Blessings upon you this day and everyday until you're following the Dares. Don't get me mean;P
So, let's turn to...
#DARE SEVEN
*Learn Self-restraint*
Is it hard for you to control your desires?
Hard to lower your gaze?, or hard to stop eating?
Do you always end up listening to your heart?
Or are you brave enough to do what's right and not give in?
Self restraint is an extremely extremely important virtue!
You should never turn a blind eye to this one.
You all must know that Ramadan is a month which has the main goal of teaching us self-restraint through fasting.
But how?
How do we inculcate this beautiful quality in us?
It's by practice! Practice makes us perfect You may have read or heard this statement several times since childhood, it's time you start applying this to real life and earn rewards.
For example: You're trying to inculcate healthy food habits and so avoiding the junk food but you happen to visit your friend's house where you smell the sweet aroma of cake. It fills your nostrils and your mouth waters! Yumm! How can I resist this? This is where you have to put the plan into action. It's giving you a golden chance to practice self-restraint. I'm not telling you to avoid consuming the cake at all, don't be hard on yourself in the beginning or soon you'll lose your patience and end up gaining more weight. Eat but eat less. A morsel or two. That's it! No more.
This will send the message to your subconscious that you're learning self restraint and will help you in achieving it. The next time it'll be easier for you to avoid the mouth-watering cake. (Sorry if you're fasting;P)
So you see practice is the key here. The more you practice, the more self restraint will you become. Train yourself.
Remember your ability to control yourself can be at different levels in different matters. In the above example we talked about restraining from food but what about lowering your gaze? You have to train yourself in that field too.
Unless it is important to you to become self-restraint, it'll never happen. So write this goal down on paper, this way your subconscious will get an idea that it's important to you and will help you in achieving it.
All the best!
