Alive

Brian walks into the retirement home with the supplies. He saw man welding a door shut. Karen was playing checkers with an old lady.

"We're back!" He yelled.

Guillermo walks over and tells them to put it in the room right next to him.

"If that's all you need we'll be going."

Guillermo nods, shakes Brian's hand and returns back to his b.normal activity. Brian walks over to Karen.

"You ready to go?"

Karen gets up hugs the lady and says good bye. They pack up and head out towards the van. He does a brief inventory check. Everything was in order.

"So you ready meet everyone?"

"Can we see if my dad came back yet?"

Not wanting to upset the little girl, Brian agreed and drove back to the gas station. Brian grabbed a shotgun and followed Karen inside. When they walked in, there was three people searching around for any kind of food or water. One girl behind the counter. She had on a gray sweater. Her eyes were blue and she had hair blond hair in a pony tail.

"Hey Damian we got company!"

A black man ran out of an aisle and pointed his pistol at Brian.

"Hey I have a shotgun and you have a pistol. Think about it first."

The man lowered his pistol. He had a Pittsburgh Steelers hat on, a sleeveless shirt stained with blood and shorts. He was also carrying a bulky pack. Another man came out of the aisles. He was wearing an orange vest, under it was a gray shirt. He had short blond hair.

"Their alive. Holy shit, there alive." the man said sounding surprised.

"Yea and you looked pretty well fed too. Are you taking people in, we've been out here for weeks. We don't have much food either."

Brian thought about it.

"It's not up to me." he told them.

"Well who's in charge? Please I want to talk to em."

"You got a ride?" Brian asked.

"No."

"Don't try anything you'll regret."

They followed him out to the van. The three survivors got in the back with Karen. Damian sat in the passenger seat next to Brian.

"I'm Damian, that's Victoria and that's Vince."

"I'm Brian and that's Karen."

After that no one really spoke much but Karen and Victoria. They were talking their hobbies. The van made it up to to the road that headed up to the camp. Honk! Honk! Brian beeped the horn and that alerted the everyone. Michael got up and aimed the rifle at the van. The back doors of the vehicle swung open and Brian carried out the supplies.

"I'm back! and I have presents for everyone! and guests too."

He walked over to Miller and threw down the duffel bag down. Everyone just stared at him.

"Man you wouldn't believe the-" he stops and looks up. "what you guys look like you just saw a ghost somethin."

"We thought you were dead?" Taylor said.

"Well who told you tha- where's Tyler?"

They point over to him sitting on a log talking to Caroline. He walks over to him.

"Miss me?" Brian said with sarcasm.

Tyler turns around.

"Damn! Hah your alive! oh my god bro we got a lot to catch up on."

"Hey Brian Tyler said that you died. Care to tell us what really happened?"

Brian took a deep breath. "We were in an office and there was maybe twenty or twenty five walkers following us. I told him that we should split up cuz then maybe they would split up as well and we can kill them more easily. But it back fired and most of them went after me."

"Ok now that we have that settled, lets see what Brian brought today." Miller said sounding like a child on Christmas morning.

He opened the bag with food too find a lot of cans,chips,snacks and drinks. Michael opens the bag with weapons.

"Holy shit! Miller look at all this! How did you get all these?!"

"Atlanta Police Department."

Damian stepped in. "I'm guessing your the leader of this group." He said looking at Miller.

"What if I am?"

"Can I have a word with you?"

Miller walked over too him.

"Aw who's that?" Taylor said gesturing at Karen.

"That's Karen. Found her at a gas station."

"Hey there Karen, wanna hang out while they finish talking?"

Karen looked at Brian. "Go for it."

Karen ran over to Taylor and headed towards her tent. When Karen crawled in, she saw Sebastian walking around. She sat down and Taylor sat down as well.

"You wanna pet him?"

Karen picks up the cat and start stroking its fur. The cat purrs.

Damian walks over I his group. They were sitting on the log. Victoria was playing with her hair and Vince was drawing in the dirt with a stick.

"Well?" Victoria says standing up. "can we stay?"

"We can but we need to help scavenge food and supplies when he wants us to."

"Great more work."

"If you want you can and go on your own Victoria."

Victoria was silent. "We got a good thing going dont mess it up for us."

Taylor and Karen left the tent and went to find the toys she got from Walgreens. They walk over to Brian who was talking to Miller and Jason.

"Um... Brian, do you know where the toys I got are at?" she asks quietly.

"It's in bag by the HUMVEE ." He said pointing to a black backpack laying against a tire. Taylor walks over and picks up the bag and goes over to where the campfire was and starts to sort out the toys.

"Aren't you a bit old to be playing with dolls and stuffed animals?" Victoria said sitting on a chair.

"Yea but... it's still fun." Taylor replied with a smile.

A low droning sound of motorcycles echoes through the hills. Everybody stopped what they were doing and looked up.

"You sure this where their camp is baby bro?" a voice rang out.

"What you think I'm some kind of retard? I'm the one who followed them here." another voice rang out followed by more voices and guns being loaded.

Miller grabbed his mp5, Jason grabbed a shotgun, Brian ran over to Karen and Taylor.

"What's going on!?" Taylor asked with concern in her voice.

Brian handed Taylor his pistol. "Take Karen down to the lake if something happens here take her to the other group and get help."

Taylor and Karen got up and ran towards the pathway lead down to the lake. Damian and Vince ran over to Miller who he them each an assault rifle and told them to get ready. Brian stood up turned around and saw arrow fly towards him.
