it was strange how he felt lonely all the time, especially when he was surrounded by many people.
every time he was hanging out with his friends he felt out of place. he didn't chat with them like he used to because their conversations seemed boring to him and he didn't laugh at their jokes because they weren't funny anymore. he was just there with them but he wasn't exactly there. his thoughts were very far away.
his friends had started noticing the distance that had been forming between him and them but they didn't say anything. they didn't care much about that anyway.
he didn't want to hang out with his friends. in fact, he didn't want to hang out with anyone. he just wanted to be alone. if he felt lonely, he wanted to feel that because he didn't have anyone, not because he was surrounded by people who didn't give a shit about him.
