The cafe buzzed with students from school, laughing and talking away. I could see familiar faces everywhere I turned. Hayley and Andrew sat with me, the only people who didn't treat me abnormally. Ever since the suspension, everyone knew me. Some hated me more now, but some ignored my presence, as if I wasn't even there. We sat on the outside part of the cafe, and at the other corner, Melissa, Lucy and their crew sat, eyes all on me.
I almost felt sorry for Melissa's face. Almost.
A loud vroom of a sports car took of all our attention away from each other. The people talking and laughing went silent, and Melissa's glaring paused as she turned to see who had come. But I didn't need to look to know. Although, I looked anyway. You just can't miss him.
The door of the yellow porche opened. and then a boy with black boots stepped our of the vehicle. It was like a scene from a movie. We first could see the dark jeans he was wearing, then comes the dark leather jacket, laying over his black tee. When his head popped out next, I could hear all the girls murmur in delight, hoping to catch the attention of the big fish in the pond.
Too bad the fish is claimed.
He shielded his eyes from the brightness of the sun with a pair of an obviously expensive sunglasses. He wore a smile, loving the attention he was getting. I watched Melissa's lips twitched into a smile at the sight of him as I got up from my seat.
I also saw her mouth formed an 'O' shape when he walked right past her table, and towards me. I was too aware of all the eyes on him and as we meet halfway, people began to stare at me too. He didn't hesitate taking me into his arms and placing a deep, slow kiss on my mouth. His arm draped over my shoulders and from behind me, I heard Hayley called to meet at home later. Melissa gasped, getting up and storming away, followed by her minions.
Everyone knew now that in the pond, there is only one big fish. And that fish is mine.
"What?!" I choked on my donut, turning to face Noah as he laughed. I couldn't believe what he just said.
"It's true. I'm not lying." He shook his head, smiling.
After that little show at the cafe, Noah brought me to the beach and sat us at the railing we were sitting on when I first proposed the game. He had just told me that the girl he had fallen into the drain for was Melissa.
"Then that's her loss." I shrugged, leaning into him as he embraced me.
"But what matters now is that I have you and you have me." He traced a finger down my cheek.
"All of you?" I asked teasingly, smiling.
"All of me." He whispered into my ear, kissing my cheek. "But do I have you?"
Turning to face him, I cupped his face in my hands, kissing him softly on the lips and looking into his eyes, loving how dazed and dreamy he looked when I say, "You have all of me."
He grinned again, pulling me towards him and kissing me harder this time, whispering words of love against my lips. I melted in the inside.
I knew then that I would be happy for a long time to come.
