"I didn't know they can grow us a tail," Klowil told Keelip, confused."I don't like a tail."
Loompa shifted on her seat. Maizy, as expected, was writing this down.
"Tierra!" Karys was calling her.
"Oh, hello."
"And Maizy, right?" Karys turned to smile at Maizy. "Do you already have rooms?" Tierra and Maizy shook their heads simultaneously. "Oooh! Please join us both of you! Serin and I got this big room and we need two more to occupy the other beds. Actually three, but two would do," she continued in a whisper and placed a hand to the side of her mouth, "And we don't want any of these obnoxiousness sharing quarters with us."
Tierra and Maizy giggled and nodded in return. Maizy stood up, "Th-there's just this concern of mine, if you d-don't mind me telling." The girls shook their heads, "My stuff are still in the inn around R-road 5. And I've paid the in-nnkeeper good for a week."
"You did not!" Karys went as they headed for the door.
"I did. I d-didn't know we were all allowed to s-sleep in the castle," she looked sullen.
"Didn't your Sephyrian friends tell you?" Serin asked, as they rounded a corner. It was the first time Tierra heard her speak to the group.
"Believe me or not, I d-don't have any friends. My mother couldn't afford to b-bring me to Basic Studies in Sephyria, so I only had a p-private tutor there for three years. She was a f-friend of mother so she gave us a d-discount."
"That makes the two of us," Tierra piped. "I mean, having no friends," she said quickly, "I'm also homeschooled, you know."
"Or castle schooled, you mean?" Karys joked. The girls giggled. "Anyhow, is that the Piner's Inn you stayed in last night?" Maizy nodded, "Good. My aunts know them. Here's what we'll do." Karys brought them to a huddle, "We'll head to the Inn and I'll speak with the innkeeper while Serin helps you pack your stuff. Oh, and Tierra, bring your things too please? Would you need help?"
Tierra smiled modestly, "I can manage."
"I think Tierra has handmaidens to carry her stuff," Serin said giggling lightly. Tierra nodded.
"Oh, right. So we've got about an hour to do this. Serin, the key's with you, right?" Serin nodded. "Tierra, we'll meet you at the quarters in thirty."
Karys, Serin, and Maizy waved as they climbed down the stairs. Far below, Tierra could see Allie making friends with the other girls, including Loompa. Florice was with Reed and Eros. Oh, Eros! I totally forgot about Eros. I must speak with him by lunch.
Tierra turned around to walk to her room but she bumped into a girl, making her drop her sling bag. The girl smelled of expensive fragrances. "Watch where you're going!" whined Sipka, her porcelain skin glimmered in the light.
Breena gasped at Sipka's demeanor, as if to tell her, 'That's the Princess you're talking to.'
But Sipka just went on walking and talking, fixing her hair with a hand, "I can't believe they don't have an amphitheatre," which made Gafta snicker. None of them helped her as they climbed down the stairs.
Tierra just ignored them and picked up her belongings. She had nice new friends and she didn't need to be bothered by foreign snobs.
