Caden looks at me and grabs my hand dragging me to the kitchen. I sat down on the stool at the breakfast bar next to the kitchen while cade went to get everything for dinner including pots and pans he needed.
I realize I'm staring when I feel a little tug at my pant leg I look down to see the little girl that I only perceived to be cades sister.
"Hello what's your name?" I say as look at the little girl that stands about my waist.
"My name is Katilyn but everyone usually calls me Katie." she tells me with the biggest smile on her face.
"That is a very pretty name." I say smiling back. she nods.
"Can you come and play with me?" she seems very persistent.
"Well..."
"Please please please?" how did I know it?
"Well if its alright with your brother..." I look up at him and he waves me to go. "ok I'll play with you" I start to stand up and as I do she grabs my hand and pulls me to somewhere that I hope is the living room and we both sit down on the floor.
"So Katie, what do you want-" before I get the chance to ask the whole question she hands me a barbie that looks scarily similar to what I look like, with the long Brown hair with the fake looking blue eyes, she has everything except for the ugliness.
After playing for a little bit Katilyn turns and looks at me and asks a question I won't soon forget; "what do you think of cade?" I feel my whole face heat up and I look down.
"W-well... He's a very nice guy I guess... W-why do you ask?"
"Well I think you're really pretty and I think my bubba needs someone pretty for him"
"O-oh... U-umm... Well..." I beg someone to help me before I go into shock. I think to myself and before I can go much further Caden comes out to where we are playing.
"Guys dinner is ready."
"Ok tank you bubba!" Katie says with a smile
"Hey umm Jeniferr can you go get the other little one from her room before we get dinner started?" he looks at me.
"Y-yeah umm where is her room?"
"Down the hall and the last door on the left."
"Cool" I walk down to the room that I was told to go to and walk in to see a little girl that seemed to be the youngest of the family probably less than a year. wow their mom really doesn't look like she could have had a kid in less than a year. I think as i pick up the baby and she starts to cry hold her up level to my face and start to make silly faces to hopefully cheer her up she starts to giggle
"Wow you seem to be great with kids." I jump and turn around holding the little child protectively to see cade standing in the doorway "sorry I didn't mean to startle you but you seem to be taking some time and I thought I would check make sure everything was ok."
"Well everything is fine she was just a bit fussy and I wanted to cheer her up a bit.."
"Yeah, yeah I know I saw but come on your dinner is going to get cold." I blush a deep red.
"U-uh yeah ok." I follow him out the door and to the table where I set the little girl into her high chair and sit down myself.
We sat in silence as we ate the elaborate meal that cade cooked for us. Case looks at me a few times during dinner.
While eating I realize how weird today has gone first I meet the one and only caden Howard that he sticks up for me I go over to his house and we almost kiss before his mom thankfully walked in
