Soon the plane lurched to a stop at the McTavish Scottish International Airport. The guy went back to his seat to grab his carry on and I filed out with the other passengers leaving him behind. My hands were shaking and I have butterflies in my stomach. As, I came out of the arrival corridor, the realization, that I was alone and in a foreign world. But I soon mustered up the courage to take care of myself. I made my way to the baggage claim and play the waiting game . while standing here some -patiently, a stranger bumped up against me. I turned to apologize to the person for standing in their way but when I looked up Red Head is there smiling down at me. "Hey you left me back there, are you trying to ditch me. How rude."
He pouted playfully but his eyes gleamed with laughter. I felt sad, not for him, but because he was nice and I did try to ditch him. "I'm sorry; really I didn't know you wanted to stay together." I tried to look innocent. He grinned. "Well, then since we established that I want to stay around you and want to start a friendship, let's start by introducing ourselves?" I nodded. "I would like that." I blushed. What is with me blushing? I never blush.
He bowed curtly and extended his hand to me. "I'm Dean. And your lovely self?" "My name is Jėricä" I laid my hand in his and he kissed my knuckles, sending, shivers up my arm and down my spine. He looked up at me through his thick copper colored eyelashes. No one should look this beautiful it has to be a sin to have eye's so blue. Staring into mine they seem to have their own glow emanating from them, taking my breath away. Beautiful. I had to resist the urge to touch his face. But I'm pretty sure that would be weird, even for me to do it. I know I blushed harder than my caramel skin would let me. I'm starting to wonder if he does this on purpose. He seems like the type of guy who knows how to make a girl swoon. But how could he? Maybe he's a not real. That thought just made me chuckle to myself.
We grabbed our belongings and made our way to the entrance. It really wasn't a crowded place. Just a few yellow cabs, and cars and people making their way from and to the airport.
"So what brings you Bagpipe country?" he asked. I giggled at his small joke. "Well, I just acquired land and a house from my grandmother. She died a month ago and left me everything she had. I sold everything in our old house and sent the money from the sell and the money she gave me here at a bank in the town I'm moving to. Never know, the home of Kilts might rub off on me and I might like living here." I looked up at the blue-grey sky and sighed. "I'm looking for a new beginning for myself. He smiled and took my hand. "Don't worry you won't be alone. I'm here for you. I can be your Tour Guide. Come on." I felt relief wash over me as I let him tug me through the crowd of cars in the parking lot.
We stopped at a solid black Lamborghini that shined even in the dull sun. "Wow, that's a nice set of wheel you have there." I covered my eyes as a mock blindness. He ducked his head and smiled. "Thanks, I just got it a few months ago." Dean opened the door for me and bowed as he shut the door, making me giggles and smiles. I watched him walk around to the driver's side wondering how I can guy his height even fit into a car this size. When he got in I then noticed that his seat looked adjusted to his height, so he's not all scrunched up
"So you look like a pretty big guy. how tall are you?" The sides of his eyes crinkled as he smiled, "I am 6'8." Holy Jesus, he's huge."Wow really?!" He makes me look like a toddler, "I'm only 4'11." He laughed at the shocked faces I made. raising a mischievous eyebrow he leaned close, "wanna know something else? I shook my head. "I'm the shortest in the family." I laughed and smiled at his banter, I made a friend
Dean started the car as we laughed, but he then froze for a second, staring into my eyes. His eyes roved over my face. "I didn't notice that your eyes are a gray wait no wet blue, right?" he looked surprised. I glanced down at my jeans, "Yea they change with my mood. Sometimes if you watch closely you can see them change color." I looked up and he was still looking into my eyes. "They are getting darker, they are turning a dark gray almost black now." wonder was layered into his voice. I flipped my hair to my left side to act as a curtain from his gaze. "They do that sometimes, like when I'm shy or embarrassed or flattered." he gasped. "Oh, I'm sorry, if I'm embarrassing you. It's just your so mesmerizing. And your eyes are a very pretty color and I never saw a girl your color... I think I should shut up now and drive." I laughed "I'm not embarrassed, more flattered that you notice. I'm usually good at being invisible."
I kept my eyes outside the window as we exited the airport lot. But I can sense his amusement "No problem little Lass. So where do you need to go?" I took a printed page my lawyer had faxed me before I left. "I need to get to the East part of the hills of Barnadune" he arched a perfect eyebrow at the road. "Well isn't this a small world after all. I have a cottage in the North hills. My home is much closer to the town than yours because your home swings around the hills that look like green sand dunes. We call it the shadowed valley because during the day you can always find shade while sitting at the feet of the hills." I imagined the hills. "I bet it's the most beautiful sight in the world."
