Running out of class as soon as the bell rang. I ran towards the school garden which is pretty much close to the gates. I started looking around, students walking around in silence, some are blabbering while others are laughing. Some others are playing around as if they're in kindergarten. I guess they haven't realize they reached high school, yet.
I spotted a huge oak tree at the corner of the campus. I went towards it, threw my drawing book and art supplies on the ground as I took a seat following it a deep sigh. Today's really different from the past years, it's a whole new experience, whole new challenge.
I remember when I was 8 and dad used to pick me up after school taking me to a place where you find oak trees, a calm place where you can hear nothing but the sound of birds and cold breeze hitting the tree's leaves.
Ever since then oak trees were my thing, a place where you sit under to have a peaceful and calm quiet seat no matter how crowded the place might be.

"Are you sleeping?"

He said snapping me back to reality, taking off my earphones.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"Oh, I thought you were sleeping since you had your eyes shut and I-"

"Oh, I'm not.." I cut him off trying to get to the point.

"I thought maybe you would want to have a look around since it's break time." He said politely.

Weird.

"Uh, it's okay you don't have to do it because I'm new, I can-"

"I'm not doing it because you're new, I'm doing it because he's watching."

He narrowed his eye's towards the hallway where I saw my math's teacher standing and staring at us.

"Don't look! You're making it obvious!" He said through gritted teeth.

"I'm not." I turned away.

"Obviously." He snickered.

He sat down next to me taking the left side of my earphone placing it in his ear.
"What are you listening to?"

"Uh, Ludovico Einaudi." I smiled, looking away.

"Who's that?" He asked curiously.

"You ask a lot you know?" I said.
"You can google about him, he's cool." I said grabbing my things from the ground and snatching my earphone away from him. I stood up and started patting myself.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"You're still asking? Come on, I thought you said you wanted to show me around."

"Oh" was all he said before taking me around.

******

"It wasn't that bad."

"Hm?" He asked looking at my face.

"I thought you're one of those jocks, a playboy maybe? I don't know." I said smiling while looking at my feet.

He took me to the school cafeteria first showing me around and telling me the rules of how we should wait in line, -that was never there- and telling me about each and every person and who I'm suppose to avoid and who I can be friends with. After that he showed me the school's theater where they do celebration for special events. It's pretty wide, it's like double the campus.
This school has a lot of stairs that often led to one place which is pretty much complicating. We ended up going to the rooftop because..I have no idea.

"Why so?" He chuckled looking down at me.

"I don't know." I stared at the sky.
"Why did you smile when you saw me earlier?" I asked curiously.

"Maybe because I wanted to leave an impression?" He answered asking with a smile on his face.

"A great impression you left." I laughed.

"How's that?" He asked joining me.

"Well, I thought maybe I got myself in trouble without even laying a hand in it." I said.

"So what are you? Little miss trouble?" He smiled to the sky handing me a bottle of water.

"No thanks," I said before continuing, "not much of a miss trouble, I avoid them but they keep on hunting me down you know?" I finished.

"Same." Was all he said before having silence filling the atmosphere.

It wasn't an awkward silence though, a peaceful one.

Few minutes later the bell rang and we both knew that it was time to go. I got up from my seat and waited for him to do the same, which he didn't.

"You staying here?" I asked.

"Yeah, you can leave."
"You know the way back right?" He asked, not breaking contact with the sky.

"Hm, yeah. It was nice meeting you Chris." I said holding my hand out for a shake.

"Nice meeting you too Chris."
He smiled shaking my hand.
