22: Shocker

Eleonora walked down the hallway toward her bedroom at the tower. She had a bowl of popcorn in her hands. Tony and Pepper had gone out for a little date night. Eleonora decided that tonight was going to be movie night. She liked movie nights. She really hoped Steve was okay. She was worried sick about the Star Spangled Soldier. He was her best friend and she would be upset if something were to happen to him.

Eleonora got to her bedroom and opened the door. She walked in and set the bowl of popcorn on the nightstand at her bed. She sighed and looked around for a light switch so she could turn on the lights. It was really dark in the room. As she looked for the light switch, she bumped into something. She raised an eyebrow and she touched what she had bumped into. That was no piece of furniture. That was a someone.

Eleonora panicked and quickly found the light switch. She spun around quickly to see who was in her bedroom. Her heart skipped a beat once she saw who was standing right there. She put a hand over her mouth as she felt tears in her eyes. She stumbled backward and almost fell.

"Be careful, Eleonora. It's just me" He said soothingly going over to her quickly. He touched her arm gently and looked into her eyes, "it's okay. I'm here."

"You're d-dead" Eleonora said looking at him in disbelief. She shook her head, "this has to be some dream."

"It's all real, Eleonora" he said touching her cheek gently. Eleonora looked up into his emerald green eyes and rested her head on his chest. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face into his chest. Loki wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on her head.

"I missed you so much" Eleonora said looking up at him.

"I missed you so much as well" Loki said kissing her head gently. He wanted to take her back to Asgard with him. He wanted her to stay with him. He wanted her safe and out of harms way, "Eleonora... I want you to come with me."

"My home is here, Loki" Eleonora said taking her hand in his. She clutched his hand tightly as he rubbed his thumb against her hand.

"I know that. And I respect that here is your home. I just want you to be with me. I want to be with you" he said.

"How?" Eleonora asked looking at him.

"Maybe... I could come down here to Midgard and see you everyday-"

"No. I want you to be here for me when the baby is born. It's your baby too" Eleonora said looking into his emerald colored eyes.

"I can't stay down here for a long time. I'm pretending to be Odin on Asgard. I'm on the throne" He explained to her.

"Loki... If you want to stay with me I would like it if you would stay here. We could get our own place" Eleonora said.

"You don't understand. I'm on the throne up on Asgard. I have to watch over Asgard" he said to her hoping she would understand, "I want you to come to Asgard with me. I would keep you hidden from the other Asgardians. I don't think they would take it lightly if they found out you were pregnant with my child. And I would keep you safe from harms way."

"Loki... I can't do that. I have a family down here on Earth. I can't just leave them and not tell them where I have gone" Eleonora said looking at him, "what if we get our own place? I want our baby to at least know his or her father."

"More like him and her..." Loki mumbled. Eleonora titled her head in confusion, "I know what you're pregnant with. Twins..."

"Twins?" Eleonora asked in disbelief, "you are so helping me. I can't do two by myself. I need your help."

"I will help you" he said, "I promise I will."

"Then you need to decide what you are doing. It's either the throne... Or me" Eleonora said with a sigh before she went over and sat down on the bed. Loki sighed and stood there thinking over this large decision. It was difficult for him. Eleonora and Loki sat in silence before Loki finally came up with his answer.

"I choose you over the throne. Family means way more to me than some silly throne in Asgard. Thor can have the throne" Loki said taking her hand in his. Eleonora smiled a little and stood up kissing him gently on the lips. He still wanted the throne.

"Well... Until I get us our own apartment... You can go back to Asgard. But I guess Hiemdall will know when I'm ready for you to come down" Eleonora said looking into his eyes.

"Sounds good to me. But I could put a illusion of Odin on Asgard while I'm down here with you. I'll still take my place as king. I'll go up maybe for one week every month" Loki said.

"Okay. That sounds like a good decision" Eleonora said kissing him gently on the lips. It was great that he was still alive. Eleonora slapped Loki's shoulder, "why didn't you come to see me sooner?! I was worried sick!"

"I couldn't come down to check on you. I decided I could come down now. Eleonora, I'm sorry I didn't come down earlier" He said soothingly.

"I understand" Eleonora said, "Pepper and Tony will be back soon. I think maybe you should go before they get back. Tony might flip out."

"Of course. Maybe I could send you letters. I could have someone come down and send them to you" Loki said going out onto the balcony.

"I would love to get letters from you, Loki" Eleonora smiled and kissed his cheek softly before backing up away from the balcony, "go be a king."

"Whatever you say, Eleonora" Loki said with a smile before he was brought back up to Asgard by the Bifrost. Eleonora watched as he left. She let out a heavy sigh and closed the balcony doors before going back over to her bed.
