Loki was growing impatient with his own daughter. She wouldn't listen to anything he told her. He didn't know when to tell her that he was her father. Claire was very stubborn about things. She would ignore Loki for several hours and then annoy the crap out of him for a day or two.
Loki was getting tired of it. He was tired of her little tricks even though she got them from him. He was always known for his tricks. Now he had passed them down to his daughter and she was using them against him. He was getting very annoyed by the tricks that his daughter would pull. Today she pulled the last straw.
Claire ran down the hallway quickly with fear on her face. She slid against the floor making a turn down the hall. She ran quickly hearing the loud footsteps behind her. Her little feet slapped against the floor. Loki emerged from the other hallway with a look of pure anger. And well his hair was now a dark pink color.
Claire slid to a halt seeing that there was a dead end. Her little heart started beating faster as she heard her captor chuckle lightly. She turned with wide eyes seeing that he was getting closer. She swallowed the lump in her throat and backed up away from him until she hit the wall. She watched his every move as he continued to advance closer and closer.
Loki chuckled a little seeing her frightened look. Yet he stopped getting closer and he stood a few feet away from her. He could tell she was scared. He knelt down and tilted his head slightly looking at her. Every time he looked at her, he saw himself. Loki sighed and he sat down on the ground. He rubbed a hand down his face and hid his face in his hands.
Claire frowned and she tilted her head a little. She stepped forward a little and swallowed as she got closer. She didn't know if it was a trick or he was actually upset that she had dyed his hair pink. Well she knew he was upset but not in a sad way. He was upset in a mad way earlier. Claire slowly went over and sat down beside him on the floor. Loki looked up and his green eyes met the ones of his daughter's.
"Claire... There is something that I need to tell you..." Loki said before he sighed and relaxed his shoulders. His emerald eyes softened and he gently brought her closer to him. Claire didn't squirm in protest or anything. She noticed he needed comfort so she decided to be nice.
Claire leaned back against his chest letting him embrace her small body. His warm, comforting arms wrapped around her, hugging her close to him. Claire didn't understand why it felt so comforting. She was confused. She didn't know that he was able to show compassion. She thought he had no emotion but clearly he had something in that heart.
"Once upon a time, there was a bad guy.... He was heartless but that was because someone was telling him what to do," Loki took a deep breath and sighed before he continued, "he tried to take over the world but something distracted him. She was a kind, nice woman that showed him love... Soon they were together. They loved each other very much. The bad guy changed his ways. Soon the woman was with child... Or more like children... Twins... But the man had to tend to his home and his people. He wanted to be there for the woman... But he couldn't."
Claire looked up into his emerald green eyes. She could tell he was trying not to cry. His eyes had tears in them that were ready to fall. She frowned and reached up wiping his face with the sleeve of her sweater. Loki looked at her and smiled softly before he sniffled a little and continued with his story.
"Soon the woman gave birth to two beautiful children... The man wasn't there to see them. But there was another man there that posed as their father. The woman wanted to forget about the one she once loved. She hid her children away from him... She wanted to keep them safe. But the man was heart broken... He wanted to see his children badly," Loki said looking down upon Claire. Claire looked down deep in thought trying to process what he was telling her.
Loki gently smoothed down her raven black hair and sighed looking at her. He could tell the gears were turning in that little mind of hers. Claire looked up at him waiting for him to explain the story. She wanted to know. Her mind was puzzled but she enjoyed hearing the story.
"Claire... I was that man... Your mother, Eleonora, was the woman..." Loki said softly looking down. Claire's eyes widened slightly as her brain processed what this meant. He was her real dad. Not Steve. Steve was the man that posed as her father. No wonder she had black hair. Claire looked at him feeling tears form in her eyes. Her bottom lip quivered and she hugged him tightly not wanting to let go.
Loki hugged her close to him not wanting to let go either. He gently kissed his daughter's head and looked down at her. He could feel her hands gripping onto the material of his shirt. She clearly wasn't letting go of him anytime soon. Loki sighed and he hugged her again.
"I'm sorry for everything, Claire. I wanted to see you and your brother... I'm sorry I wasn't there for you" Loki said looking at his little girl. Claire didn't speak. She buried her face gently into his chest. It was warm and comforting. She didn't want to let go of him at all.
"I'm sorry for dying your hair pink, daddy..." Claire said, her voice muffled slightly since her face was buried in his chest. Loki sighed and he kissed her head before smoothing down her dark colored hair.
"It'll come out eventually" Loki said with a sigh looking down at the hard wood floor in the hallway, "I'm not mad anymore about it, Claire.... I could never stay mad at you."
