After sky stopped crying she instantly fell asleep hugging me I didn't know what else to do, so I went and layed down with her. As she was sleeping, I played with her hair, gently enough that she won't wake up. I looked at her face and smiled. She looked like she was sleeping peacefully. As I continued to play with her hair she started twisting alittle and her eyes fluttered open. She saw me and then slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"How long was I out?"
"An hour or 2"
She nodded. "I'm sorry for-"
"Don't apologize. There's no reason for it. You did nothing wrong"
She nodded and stretched. Dawn jumped on the bed and crawled her way towards sky and licked her.
"Did my dog just pick you over me?"
We laughed and stood up.
"You know Sky, Dawn isnt the friendliest dog and not very fond of new people so the fact she took a liking to you quickly says alot"
"Hmm. Should be honored?" She joked.
"Yes you should"
We went to the kitchen and I started cooking. Yes bitch. I can cook. Even though my dog refuses to eat my cooking doesn't mean I can't cook. She's just a picky eater. That's all. I quickly finished making the breakfast and brought it over to the living room to find Sky looking at a couple of family pictures. She was holding one of my mom. I took a shaky breathe.
"Sky foods ready"
She nodded. "Who is this?"
"My mom, she um....past when I was a kid"
"Raven....I'm sorry I-"
"It's okay you didn't know" I said alittle irritated, tho I quickly regretted it. I didn't mean to say it that way.
She nodded and placed the picture back on the shelf. I went to the table and signaled her to sit next to me. She did and we then began to eat in uncomfortable silence well until Dawn came out of nowhere and jumped on the table and stated to eat the food off our plates.
"Dawn get down! You fluffy ninja!"
Sky busted out laughing. Dawn finally got down and I sighed.
"Im sorry sky-"
"Don't apologize. You there's no reason for it. You did nothing wrong" She mimicked me.
I chuckled. "Okay, okay payback"
She giggled. God I love her laugh! wait....Shit! Damn it, I'm fallen for this idiot. And I'm falling hard. I don't get it. Nothing happend between us and yet I become protective and a softy when I'm around her.
