Yuri's POV

I snuck into the forest, away from the battle. "What was he thinking!?" I growled. Pain struck my leg as blood trickled down my cut. He had kept hitting the same spot! My leg was numb, I couldn't even feel the pain anymore! "That jerk!" I cried. We have to... retreat, our population has plummeted to 150, while theirs is still at 300! I quickly stumbled into our den. Millions of sick and injured covered the floor. The smell of decaying flesh wafted through the air. I ran up to Hinata. He opened his eyes and looked at me with his sad smile. "Our friends and family have all sacrificed their life's for this war don't let their kindness be in vain! Avenge us all!" He mumbled half asleep. Tears rolled down my cheeks "I will..." I whispered clutching his hand, I saw his tears running down his cheeks as well, as he went back to sleep. I asked the doctors to treat my leg as I sat down beside Hinata.

A few minutes later I was ready to go. "Good-bye Hinata!" I cried as I charged into the forest. I climbed up to the top of a tree, hugging my tail. I saw Kiba slaughtering my friends, my dead comrades covered the floor but only a few wolfs lay dead in the battlefield. Was I the one who was weak, not being able to protect my fellow followers. Yesterday I found out that Kiba was the leader of the wolf, if he died we win, but if I died, they win. I had to duel him! It was my last chance. I jumped off the tree, and dashed into the bloody war. Facing Kiba I glared at him. "There you are" he sneered. "Kiba... duel me! Loser dies, survivor wins. Do not hesitate to kill me! Cause I wont to you, this is goodbye!" I growled. "Just retreat you fool! You can come with us to our kingdom! My people will welcome you with open arms if you help me fight!" Kiba roared. I stood there glaring at him, how could someone so giving be this heartless? "You idiot... How dare you!? Do you really think that I would abandon all my friends and family!?" I bellowed with rage.
