Another sleepless night,
Another sorrow filled day.
Once again the pain bites,
Once again the joy drifts away.
Another betrayal of a friend,
Another person seeing me only bend,
Never break.
But it's what they don't see.
What they don't hear.
I hide it for my sake.
We all feel pain.
Some soft,
Some intense.
We hide it for no loss,
No gain.
They judge us by what they see,
What they hear.
What they know.
I feel like a flake of snow,
Drifting constantly without control.
Not knowing where it's heading,
Not knowing what will happen to it next.
I'm never understood,
Never known well enough to be judged properly.
I'm judged by my top layer,
Not by what's beneath.
