Here I Am

There you are,
Smiling at all be wrong people.
Here I am,
Sitting in the corner.
You flirt with them with no end,
And I wish you would stop.
You're scaring me,
Worrying me.
I want to protect you,
But I'm just the weak one in the shadows.
I guess you see me as a pawn,
Just a piece of your plan to be popular.
But when will you see,
It's not just you,
It's me.
You're my friend--
No, you're more.
You're my sister.
I want to protect you but I don't speak out.
It's not because I hate you,
It's because I'm afraid of you.
I don't want you to rage and scream at me.
I don't like it,
But I can't avoid it.
Would you just listen?
To me and to your brother.
You may think we don't care,
But we do.
We may not be the best of friends,
But we can agree on one thing:
We want to protect you.
Here I am.
Waiting for you to realize that they don't care.
