~Why is everything so hard to believe?~
Heaven's Call
Elise
"Michael, explain! What got me into this situation?!" I asked him, but even after two minutes of thinking, he had not made up his mind. It was as if he did not want to drag me into this mess. We were seated on a bench in the park, covered by the trees that provided us shade.
"Fine... But promise me, you will not go insane from the how dark this matter is... it's dark... really dark." I nodded frantically, accepting the terms.
"The universe is split up into Heaven, Earth, and Hell, as you should know from Earth's current knowledge. I'll explain Heaven first."
"Heaven is split up into seven divisions, and I am the Captain of the seventh. The first division Captain rules over everyone, and his name is Wayne." He flinched a bit at Wayne's name but continued. Does Wayne have anything special to do with me?
"In Hell, it's split in two. One side is for human sinners... but there is one side hiding to revolt upon, snatch Hell away from its guardian... Death, and probably aspire to dominate Earth, as well as destroying Heaven. Those, are the Fallen. They kill others who held power in Hell to use them for their evil deeds. The Fallen themselves are the mythical horrors humans know about. However, the Fallen back then have never mastered the ability to transport their own kind from Hell into the human world... but now they have. It's now harder for this fight to end, especially when we think there's a Leader on the rise, and he is targeting you to be his successor or something. From the battle with Ash, and what he has told you, we found out his name is Xandor. He is a threat... and he must be held away from you...
"Because, if you don't, you will become a servant of Darkness, and I don't know what fate awaits you." Michael coughed. I realised this was a bad topic to talk about, but I couldn't handle the severity of this. Since I witnessed a Fallen's strength, my own strength... is not enough.
"And up till now, has anyone seen a Fallen, before my encounter?"
"There were encounters before, but every Protector that faced them, they disappeared, and no one heard from them ever since. However, we do eliminate some Fallen from time to time, and they do provide us invaluable information on how to deal with them."
"Maybe I can help, I can see them now. After all, they are after me, aren't they?" I tried to look brave, less weak.
"You need to be taught some defensive skills first, Elise. You can't expect to face them head-on without defending yourself." And of course, Michael had to make me feel stupid, when in fact, I was the one who was an idiot to begin with.
I can't let myself die like that. Neither can I bear to see Michael possibly die for me when I can't defend myself.
"Michael, take me in as your apprentice!"
"Apprentice?" Confused, he bent down so we were eye to eye. It felt like he was seeing through my soul.
"I see. You're already accepted." He smiled. After watching all his videos, seeing his temperament, behaviour, he used to be so shy... now he's speaking without hesitation... and he was so brave facing the Fallen back then.
And, as I sat alongside him, I wondered why he never saw my love for him... and as I thought about it further, I felt the fatigue from earlier take effect.
