~At last. A break.~
A Day Out
"Michael, you don't have to wake me up this early for an outing..." He pointed to my lifeless collection of built models, signalling something."O...oh.....OHHHHHH I GET IT!" He smiled cheerfully, and in no time I was up and ready, packing some of my favourite models into a bag.
"We are gonna fly them, are we? Are you really giving me the green light to fly them, Michael?" I took the two I loved most, hesitating to place them in the bag.
"Of course, Elise." I instantly knew what to do. The two in my hand were good enough.
One coloured in a mix of blue-violet, metallic red, gold and white, another coloured in glossy metallic red, black and gold, silver coating the exposed wires.
I threw them out of the window, imagining them coming alive. I can hear the sound of engines whirring noisily; my creations, became reality!
They were standing face-to-face; leg cables dangling above the floor by centimetres, for us to enter.
"Michael, I guess you'll take the red?" He was admiring the red coating of the armour.
"What is its name? It's mono-eyed... and a single fin on the head...a backpack jutting out with external fuel tanks... a shield that's intimidating in itself..." I stood there, amazed at his interest. This was stolen from the protagonist army in its show; customized to fit the antagonist, but this antagonist was fighting for a good cause. Something like the Nazis fighting for the resurrection of their people.
"Its name is Sinanju. It's a special one, be careful with it." He pointed to mine, amazed at the paint job.
"Your own mobile suit looks really nice. It has a backpack with wing-like extensions... It looks majestic."
"Oh, this? It's one of my first custom paint jobs. Marked the first time I started to spray paint. Its name is Wing. Well... it should be easy to know the controls. Go figure!" I pulled on the leg cable as soon as I placed my left foot on it, rising up to the cockpit entrance.
Finding comfort in the leather seat, the controls slipping through my hands along with the fresh just-out-of-the-factory kind of feeling.
I'm ready to go. The adrenaline is pumping in my veins. I cannot wait any longer. The Sinanju's mono-eye is lit, it seems Michael has figured it out after all.
"Michael, if you hear me, let's fly," I spoke into the intercom. A loud roar that hurt my ears a little sent me desperately looking for a pilot suit.
"You okay?" He replied. It was sorta fuzzy as if the connection wasn't actually that strong.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Doin' fine, just not really used to the loud engine just yet."
Transforming into flight mode increased my speed by three times the original, but Michael was holding his own and was keeping up with me well. The Sinanju's mono-eye turned to me and gleamed, before flying off at a faster speed. I knew he was racing me, and I won't lose to him.
"You ain't gonna try to beat me at this. I win every race!" I sped up and I could hear the afterburners burning away my fuel.
"No, I win every race!" Michael did the same, and we flew to places we could think of, only to settle down in a clearing.
It reminded me of the day I was with Weiss and then fainting to a wound received from a Fallen...
Would it happen again? I wouldn't know.
Having a little break, lying down to bask in the sun, I was enjoying this day.
"It's a good time to actually practice your magic. The Fallen won't appear anytime soon." A magic codex appeared in my palm, and it flipped open to a page.
"Today, you learn that." Named Sylvian Arrow, it showed a diagram where a bunch of arrows were shot towards a target from a door that would appear on summoning.
"Me? Learn this? This is...." I flipped to the cover, "another Captain-grade codex?! Am I really deserving of this grade?! Yeah, I know it's been easy for me to learn and all that-" Michael covered my mouth gently.
"It's because you're special. There's nothing about you that we want to intensively train you in. It's just that you manage it really well, so, learn it, and you are rest assured not to have any trouble later on, should you meet any hostile party, as I believe you should have understood earlier, hmm?" Michael emphasised.
"Eh... yeah.... true. But it all seems sorta... too easy. What about your type? I need to have something cool like yours!" Michael fidgeted as I said my piece, and he brought out a smaller sized codex.
"I created my own spells... but to realize they were that good, I didn't know. Well, you can try. I doubt they're actually easy, but since easy spells look boring to you, I guess a little challenge won't hurt." He passed the codex to me, making the earlier one disappear.
"Woah, now this is interesting!" My hands flew over the pages, making them free to try casting a spell that I was interested in.
I stopped at a spell that looked like a shock wave. When I cast it, it was actually making the victim rise up by an imaginary force and then slammed down by a blinding light.
Others were also interesting, but I just flipped the pages...
"You're too quick a learner, Elise! You're stealing my life's work!" Michael snatched the codex away from me, and I stood there laughing.
"Well learning is a forever thing, so why not? What about a fight? We gotta at least have something." Just as I was about to go up to the cockpit, I saw a figure in the distance, who was that?
"Bring it on!" I closed the cockpit hatch, the monitors coming to life, I charged forward towards Michael's Sinanju.
However... danger was lurking within the darkness of the forest - where Michael and I would soon face.
It was him. He was watching us.
Author's Note
Hey, I'm sorry for being late on this chapter haha! I'd admit, I don't really know how to write happy outings and stuff, I'd ruin them with a suspenseful cliffhanger or something bad XD You can say I might as well just write books that are full of action and no 'filler', stuff like that.
And I'd probably assume iDare2Dream would say "This, my friend, is confirm Elise" YET AGAIN!!!! XDDDD Nice one there back on Accentier SY haha
Check out my Unofficial MJ Fanfiction, Accentier from my profile @Elise_Jackson
Have a good day, and I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
