COLE
Everything had been quiet.
Too quiet.
After Rochelle broke Victoria's nose, Victoria and Derrick haven't done anything. I still didn't trust them. It didn't matter if they weren't bothering us. I felt paranoid with those two around.
They were a threat to Rochelle's safety and it was my job to protect her.
Right now, I was waiting for Rochelle in front of the school, nervously pacing back and forth.
For the last two weeks, Rochelle had been spending time in detention as her punishment for breaking Victoria's nose. Even though she wasn't very excited, Rochelle accepted her punishment with relief. Her parents wouldn't have been happy if she got suspended. Even though they weren't happy with her actions, I saw the pride in their eyes.
Unfortunately, it was unsettling for me since I wasn't allowed in the detention room unless I got into trouble as well. I had a few ideas in my head, but Rochelle refused to let me get in trouble just to see her.
So there I was- a nervous wreck of a boyfriend looking longingly through a classroom window.
"If it isn't the boy who stole my girlfriend."
I tensed as I turned around to see Derrick Thompson leaning on my motorcycle.
"Get off my bike, Thompson." I gritted out.
He raised an eyebrow at me. The corner of his mouth raised into a smirk, knowing he was ticking me off.
"Nah, I'm comfy here, but thanks. Listen, we need to talk. Man to man. Look, I know we are not best of friends-"
I broke him off with the snort. Friends? Not in this lifetime.
He ignored me and continued.
"-but I think we still have a bro code. Bros before hoes? Well, I would just like to take back my hoe and I can be on my way. No one gets hurt. Good deal right?" He said innocently.
I looked at him, furious. How dare he talk about Rochelle like that? He isn't serious is he? No way in hell is Rochelle going with him. Over my dead body. I pulled on a blank expression to mask my fury.
"Well I think your hoe isn't here right now. Victoria is probably throwing herself at someone right now. And didn't you just call me a 'the boy who stole your girlfriend'? You are not really a good bro for insulting my manliness. So, no thanks." I smirked as his formed into a scowl.
He started to turn red. I smirked even more at this. Someone has anger management issues. He took a step towards me and hissed.
"Listen Cole, you don't know what you're up against. My friends and I can make your life a living hell. You are only putting yourself and your friends in serious danger at this point. I don't give a shit about your bond between Rochelle. I need her." he snarled.
"Why do you need Rochelle so bad? You know you aren't taking her away from me." I growl taking a step closer to him.
It was his turn to smirk again.
"Isn't it obvious? What's the fun in telling you now?" he chirped and shrugged playfully, which made my annoyance grow. "If you aren't going to give me Rochelle, fine. Guess we have to do this the hard way," Derrick was about to leave, before saying, "And Delivery Boy? I have a message for you. Don't forget to tell our precious leader- the Nightmares are rising soon. They just won't see it coming."
He went into his Mercedes and drove away without looking back.
My breathing was starting to speed up as my vision began to see red. Son of a -
