“I taught myself. Why?” Hannah said looking at him confused.
“Well I have never had you in any of my music classes and I have never really seen you around the music part of this school. I was wondering. You should be in my class. I teach acoustic, electric, and bass guitar. And Ms. Hollens is vocal teacher. Maybe you can help her with her music class.” Mr. Penna said full of excitement.
Hannah smiled and looked, “Thanks for the offer but I am perfectly content just being by myself singing and playing music. I think it would be a good choice.”
Mr. Penna looked down in disappointment. “Oh. Okay. Well thank you for your honesty and if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me.”
Hannah’s cheeks turned a light red. “Actually no, I don’t.”
Mr. Penna laughed and asked for a pen and paper. Grace went in her bag and grabbed a sticky note and pen. He wrote down the room number and what building it was in and gave it to Hannah. “Hope to see you soon.” He said then left. Grace closed the door and turned around grinning from ear to ear looking at Hannah. Hannah smirked and put the sticky note on the wall next to her bed and then put a piece of tape on there to hold it on more.
Grace hugged Hannah and gave her a serious look, “You better make up your mind fast because those are some awesome suggestions for you. You are a talented person!” Hannah’s smile slowly turned to a frown. “Being a musician wasn’t really my plan for a career. It’s just a fun habit I do to let out how I feel. It’s an outlet I don’t plan to make anything out of.” Grace started to get sad and she gave Hannah a look that made Hannah’s stomach turn a little.
“Fine. Just great.” Grace said sounding angry. Then she got up and left the room. Guilt ran across Hannah’s face and she looked down.
Hannah got up and looked at the sticky note. She wanted to do it but at the same time she needs to focus on her classes and makes sure she can get her Bachelor’s degree. She was always focused with school and wouldn’t do anything and she would keep to herself.
