Rosalie’s Pov

I wake up the next morning (at least I think its morning), on a white couch covered by a white comforter. I looked around the room and noted some musical instruments thrown across the floor. There was a kitchen behind me and I hoped it would maybe have some sort of time telling device on it.

I make my way to the kitchen and notice that everything in here is mainly red. Did Marshall like that color? I found a basket on the table with a note tied to it; it was addressed to “Girl”. I really need to find out my name.

It read’ “Dear Girl, I know you might not like the items that I eat around the house, so I went out later last night, after I put you to sleep, and bought you a couple pieces of bread rolls. You can use the microwave to head it up. There is also some milk in the fridge. Please do not go anywhere. Stay in the living room until further notice. If you even think about climbing those stairs I will kill you, no lie. Hope you slept good! xMarshall.”

As if I ever was threatened by Marshall! I grabbed a roll and popped it in the microwave. I waited for it to beep before I actually did realize just how many red things were thrown on the floor, or hanging from cabinets. After I ate the roll I decided to clean up.

I stood the instruments straight up and picked every red item up and put them in their rightful place. Marshall shouldn’t live so barbaric! After the cleaning, I did exactly as Marshall told me. I sat in the living room doing nothing. All day.

“Hey, Girl.” I hear Marshall’s voice say. “I’m here Marshall!” I call out as I heat up some of the Chinese food that Marshall must have ordered for me earlier; the delivery man looked like a piece of candy. I couldn’t hear him come down the stairs, but I did here that ugly cry in the living room.

I ran into the room to see Marshall turning into this hideous monster. “MARSHALL!” I yelled to the demon. “WHAT DID YOU DO?!” he threw his arms up and started slowly walking towards me. I took few steps back until I bumped into the wall. “I... I just picked some things up.”

I couldn’t hear what he was saying, my fearful crying and heartbeat was drowning out the sound. He then started to throw everything around the room, some of the stuff hitting me on the head. Then I remembered something.

“Roses.” I looked into the eyes of a demon transforming back into a hardcore, emo vampire. “What?” his voice sounded annoyed. “Roses, it’s my favorite flower. I remembered my favorite flower.” Marshall’s face turned into a grin.

“So, you remembered something? Wish it could have been your name.” then I remembered another detail. “I’m named after a rose. That’s all I can remember.” Marshall looked at me and then said “Well, Rose, you should know that I do NOT like it when people pick up my stuff.” I nodded as he wiped away some of my tears.

He walked over and picked up his Ax Bass and played a few chords out of random. “I didn’t know vampires liked music.” I said as I sat beside him watching as his grey fingers gracefully ran across the neck of the instrument. “I didn’t know you didn’t know that much about a vampire either.” I gave him a questioning look.

“When I found you in the hole, you had a book in your arms. It’s on the table over there. It’s titled “My Heart Belongs to a Vampire King.” I looked over to the table and there it was. It had a preschooler type of coloring of a scary monster and a small girl holding hands with a bleeding out heart in the center. “Judging by the cover, I’d say the girl is you and you wrote and drew that out.”

“It looks like a 5 year old colored it!” I exclaimed as I flipped through the pages, each drawing was better and better. “Well, there is a whole lot in here.” I examined one picture in particular for a very long time. It was a demon, much like Marshall’s form he was in a minute ago.

“That’s me. You drew me.” He said as he ran a finger over the little girl that was close to the demon and holding his hand. “Why... How did you draw me?” I looked at Marshall and then said “Did we know each other when we were little?” he pondered for a moment before he opened his mouth with his eyes wide as he flipped through the book looking at the girl, and only the girl.

Suddenly my head started to ache and I felt dizzy. “Marshall, I don’t feel too…” everything went black.

*Flashback*

“Wow! You’re a vampire?!” said the little girl. I looked around and noticed I had been transported into a market place. I went to touch the little boy “You’re a vampire?” he ignored me. I tried to tug at his hair some and then stand in front of him.

“Yeah! Wanna see the evil demon I am?!” The boy transformed and the little girl ran away shirking, but she wasn’t scared. She was playful. The baby demon had walked past me, making me realize this was a memory.

I watched little me and the vampire boy play for what seemed like hours. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” I jumped thinking maybe the adult could see me. I blinked and she was in front of me, guess I was a ghost to her as well…

The boy turned back to normal. “It’s too late for you to be out at night! You have a busy schedule in the morning! What would happen if a kidnapper got you!?” The little girl looked down. “What would your father and mother say?” the girl looked at the woman dead in the eye.

“Jo, I’m playing with the vampire boy! He can protect me!” ‘Jo’ laughed at the girl. The boy looked down and up with his demon form slowly coming back, but then it went away when Jo opened her eyes after she wiped them from laughing too hard.

“Vampire’s aren’t real, little boy, I suggest you go home. Stop putting ideas inside of her head!” a woman said as she grabbed a younger me’s hand. “Bye Marley” I said. “Bye Ro—”.

*End*

I opened my eyes. “Marly?”
