I Never Would Have Guessed

Chapter1: New siblings

General PVO ~
Zara ran around the dining table and hid under of of the chairs.
She had been running all morning, Shiro wanted to give her a bath in holy water. She hated the smell of holy water so she decided to run around until Shiro was tired to run any more.
He was an old man anyways.

She breathed heavily but stopped when she heard the familiar sound of Shiro's boots against the cold wood floor. She stayed perfectly still.

Shiro walked around the table and stopped in front of the chair where Zara was hiding.

Things went so quickly, all Zara knew was a pair of Shiro's hands grabbed her and was carrying her up stairs.

She giggled as she punched and kicked Shiro. He winced in pain but continued carrying her.

"Dad.." She whined, " why do I have to have a bath in holy water, it stinks!"
Even though Zara was only 4 she had a wide vocabulary.
Shiro replied. "Because I'm going on a mission today and I want you safe "

She frowned but stopped resisting.

Shiro waited outside for Zara to finish her bath.

It was fine the first time mainly because she was covered in blood but now she takes baths by herself.

Zara stepped out of the bathroom wearing a yellow T-shirt and denim jeans. She had almost red hair down with a blue headband on.

Shiro smiled and carried her down stairs.

Shiro grabbed his exorcist uniform and told his helpers to keep an eye on Zara they nodded and wished him luck. He said good Bye to Zara and left.

Zara's PVO ~
I watched him leave out the front door. He'd said he'd be back before tomorrow. I hope he was telling the truth.

I run up to my room and brung out the toy whistle that Shiro had gave me.
He told me that if I ever needed a friend I could blow on the whistle,

I blow on the whistle. I hear a small noise but it sounded muddled.

Suddenly a small white dog with a pink bow and the true cross signal.
I stare at the dog and begin to giggle.

The dog stares at me then smiles at me.

What the.. How did that dog smile at me?

Suddenly a huge puff of pink smoke came from the dog.

I cough and have to squint my eyes so I'm not blinded.

After the smoke clears out I see Mephisto standing in front of me.

I burst with joy and run towards him, he greets me with a hug and lifts my up in the air.

"You called my little Zara?"
I giggle, Father had said that I shouldn't trust Mephisto, but I would be safe with him.

"Where's Father Fugimoto?"

"He's on a mission, and I'm worried about him." I tell him. " he nods and says
"Have you considered my offer?"
I glare at him. A couple of weeks ago Mephisto had asked me to be his wife.
"No I'd rather eat cow poop!" I yell at him,
He looked shocked but smiled and laughed.

Mephisto stayed for a couple of hours and entertained me but he said Shiro needed his help.
I hope he's OK.

Later that night
I had fallen asleep after Mephisto left.
I walked downstairs and saw Shiro's helpers eating dinner.
"Zara, hello we were about to go get you. Dinners ready ." one of them said.

I rub my eyes and sit in my usual spot. "Thanks for the meal" I say as I place my hands together.

Suddenly Shiro bursts through the door.
"Dad!" I yell but he doesn't reply, he was crying.

I had never seen him cry.
He was carrying something, no two something's.
The helpers ran over to Shiro and Shiro gave the two things over.

They were kids two.
He sat down and wiped away his tears and walked over to him.

He stopped crying and gave me a hug.

He smiled and then asked for the two kids back.
I stared at the kids, one had freckles on his face and he was pale, the other one had narrow eyes and a slightly tanned skin.
"The pale one is Yukio and the other one is Rin, they're your brothers." He told me.
