It started out as a dream... a plan... slowly it changed... into something... Something real...

Second to last day of summer break.

Two days from now I will be starting the daily grind of waking up when the sun had only just made it's first appearance. Starting my second to last year of high school, but in senior classes. Yes, you did read that right. I, Ariana Prescott, am a junior who does every class, but drama, with seniors. In short, I'm gifted with a brain that seems to learn rather fast and is able to excel quickly at almost everything I do. I have the reputation of Miss.Goody-Two-Shoes. Also known as teacher's pet. Really I'm pretty average, I'm not big on attention and do normal things that sixteen year old girls do, I just have a slightly more gifted brain than most my age.

Sitting in my window seat that looked out over the tarmac road, afternoon sunlight tickling the skin of my arm. In the distance was the local beach closest to where we lived in California. I could faintly see the small sparks of light catching the waves as they rolled into the shore.

Quietly listening to music and reading a book my phone vibrated next to me. Naturally I picked it up and opened the text, it was from my bestfriend, Ivy.

Ivy and I had been best friends since kindergarten. She was a year older than me, and just about to start her final year of high school. But we made things work. Although she's older than me we both were mostly in the same classes as each other. With me being gifted, and having a smart best friend a year older than me helping, I got ahead easily. That's why I work at senior level. However, it doesn't mean I get to skip a year. Which, personally I find stupid, but anyway, life shall go on and school's strange rules will never cease to amazing me.

I looked at the text, smiling brightly at it, as I always do when I get a text from Ivy. It's a best friend thing, I think?

Hey Ari, meet me at the park down your road!

I replied with a quick,

Yep, I'm on my way!

Then grabbed my purse and slipped on a hoodie, as it wasn't super warm outside for summer, then proceeded to make my way down the stairs to the door, where I yelled out to mum that I would be back later. She yelled back like your usual typical mother, "Be safe! Don't do anything you wouldn't be proud to tell your Grandma about, you know how she is... that busy-body, clean freak! Love you!" I smiled then left the house. She was so predictable. But she trusted me and I lived up to that trust. She's also very right about my grandma.

Total clean freak, busy-body!
