As I walked through a iron gates into the park, I was enveloped in a peaceful silence. The only disturbance being a couple of small children playing on the playground slide
Ivy was waiting in the usual place under a big weeping willow, by the small creek. The willow's been our meeting place for seven years, and we classed it as our safe haven. A place where we could just talk our minds without prying ears overhearing our conversation.
"Hey!" She yells when she sees me before jumping to her feet and rushing over to hug me, dropping the few daisies she was attempting to link together.
I hugged her back a huge smile on my face.
"Hey, everything okay?"
"Of course it's ok! I just wanted to see my bestie! How are you?" Ivy asked slightly too excited considering school started in two days.
"Ivy we only saw each other yesterday you sure you're okay, you seem jumpy? But I'm good," I smiled before walking with her over to the willow sitting her down next to me against the old trunk.
"Like I said everything's fine Ari... actually everything's great. Hunter and I are doing great...better than great and we are planning on going to uni together next year!"
"Awww! Cute!" She playfully glared at me then hit my arm.
"Ari I'm serious. This thing with Hunter is getting serious. We've been together for like three years. Most high school relationships don't last that long! We're practically married! What if this means something!"
"Well I wouldn't know. Never had a boyfriend remember..." I say with a 'duh' tone.
"Yeah I know, but heaps of guys have asked you out, but you always say, 'ummm sorry but I don't think so.' Like who you gonna say 'yeah' to girl?" I just laughed and looked at the rippling creek.
"I don't know Ivy. Maybe someone perfect will come round sometime in my life," I said gazing at the ducks swimming happily in the creek water.
"You do know 'no one's' perfect right? This isn't a Disney movie, and you're not Cinderella." Ivy said looking at the side if my head, some type of glare radiating from her eyes.
"Can't a girl dream Ivy?" I said facing her for a second a small smirk creepying onto my face.
"Well you just keep dreaming and maybe Mr. Prince charming will stumble over you, make sure you know your shoe size. You sound like a princess or something. You want me to turn a pumpkin into a carriage too?" She rolled her eyes, laughed then followed my gaze to the creek and the swimming ducks.
"Ariana? Ivy?" I looked up and round to my left and there stood the two most popular girls at school. They were wearing clothes that most would not wear on a day like today, as it wasn't that warm for a summer day. But if it was to impress the boys, especially Nathan Daniels -the most popular guy at school- and his friends, they would do anything. Even if it involved freezing to death.
"Rosa, Gemma. What do you want?" I asked with a bored tone in my voice.
"Nothing really just, you know, being friendly. Haven't seen you guys in ages, like since the last day of term." Rosa said in her high-pitched voice.
"Well you can be what you call 'friendly' somewhere else? And I thought you said we were boring last year?"
"Ouch, and you are. But I said that 'cos I have no idea why you have so many friends! I mean, look at you! Then look at me. I mean you haven't even had a boyfriend, and Ivy goes out with a 'jock'. Well he's quarterback so she's not doing to badly, plus he's hot." She looked up and down then carried on speaking. Ivy's face sour, and glaring at Rosa.
