Chapter 1

Spongebob's POV

Hi. I'm Spongebob. I live in Bikini Bottom, a small town smack bang in the middle of an ocean. Recently it's been a terrible place to live because the Capitol, (rulers of the town) banned jelly fishing! So my best friend and I have nothing to do all the time. Sometimes we play pranks on our forever cranky neighbour, Squidward Tentacles, to keep us amused. But the main reason this place sucks is because yesterday the Capitol went to the Krusty Krab, which is where I work as fry cook, for a health inspection. Anyway, so the representative ordered a Krabby Patty, which is our trademark, but choked on the pickles!! So out of spite he shut the place down!! But as you can imagine The Krusty Krab is a pretty popular restaurant in Bikini Bottom, so the public were so mad that they went on a rampage, charging in and demanding the Capitol give it back. But they refused. So the citizens of the town attacked. But it was a battle they wouldn't win. So as payback, The Capitol launched this shindig called The Bikini Bottom Games. 20 of our innocent citizens are put in this strange arena were they are forced to fight to the death. I pray that it isn't me. If I died, what would Patrick do? And let's not forget Mr Krabs, I mean, how would he cope without his favourite fry cook! And my parents.. Oh I don't wont to dwell on it. It's likely I won't be chosen anyway, there's over 1,000 citizens here so I doubt it. But the winner gets this sweet as boat. But what really makes me gag is that the main prize is, The Krusty Krab. Seriously, the winner takes full possession of it. Ugh. I could just re-apply for fry cook but I bet it wouldn't be as good as how it was. I didn't get paid much but I don't care.

The Reaping is soon and I'm a bit nervous, okay a lot nervous.

But I don't know why.

I mean, it couldn't be me

I just couldn't.
