I may plan on making this a LONG fic if people like it enough
The event wasn't really much more than what was already going on, and some dancing. Which Jon wasted no time managing to get to everybody who he could dance with, it was honestly really funny. This included you, though it turned out to be a giggling mess the entire time before he went on with someone else. You're pretty sure by the time the event ended, he said he danced with twelve different people. Seven of which he didn't know. It was fairly amusing when he danced with Cissie, seeing as she' taller than him in just the slightest due to the heels. Jon even dragged Damian into it all, it was great. Damian just looked like he'd rather go drown himself in the punch bowl, maybe that was what made it look so great.
Hell, two months before you got to Gotham, the only dancing you did was while you ere doing yard work in the small garden in the backyard. The was mostly pulling weeds, or pulling apples out of the one apple tree your mom planted. Usually consisted of moving your legs around or your shoulders. Listening to music while doing this stuff was really fun, so it's not like it bothered you.
As the end of the event came, the more you talked with Jon and Cissie and Damian. One thing you took notice of, was that Damian didn't really talk about himself much. He asked questions, yeah. But he didn't really talk about his life much.
Eventually at the end of the event, Bruce Wayne announced how much money was raised and got to naming out the five scholarship kids. As well as where they came from, gathering literally every bodies attention. You and Cissie we're sitting together, and you saw two more of the scholarship kids sitting with each other from across the room, but it's the fifth one you couldn't spot.
"Cissie King-Jones, from Star city."
"(Y/n) (L/n), from Portland. "
"Jaime Reyes, from El Paso."
"Anthony Drew, from Anaheim."
"And Demetria Taughtfest, from Metropolis."Anthony was the eleventh grader. He was te one you've actually been catching glimpses of throughout the evet. Always seeming completely chill for the entire thing, seating himself next to Jaime. Who had both sides of his head shaved down aside from the small mohawk he had. It wasn't all that old of a haircut, easy to tell that much. You honestly though it was kinda cool, really. Something Mason would probably do.
Then there was Demetria. When you looked at her after about thirty seconds of scanning the room, you knew right away why it was so hard to find her. It was just looking at her, making you feel really cold. Like everything else was warm and fuzzy, but the second your eyes caught a lock on hers? Everything stopped, nothing else was going on and you felt cold. Like that feeling wen you're eating food, and then you bite the inside of your mouth. But not to the point where it hurts, more like a realization of some sort.
Her skin was white, like someone had bleached it to make it that way. Hell, her skin was practically transparent. Seeing as even from this far back? You could see some faint blue lines from her neck that signalled where the veins were at. She's either sickly, or just like that. It scared you at first, because she basically looks like a walking corpse. She sat alone on the other side of the room, too. And yet you still managed to spot a vein on her neck?
But what was it that caught you off guard so much? Aside from her hair that was so blonde it may as well just be white. Aside from her fragile looking boney frame that resembled a malnourished deer?
