a/n: I want to say now that this story is going to be EXTREMELY dark as it goes on, but think of it as how harry potter started out all colorful and then progressively got darker as time went on. So at the beginning, there's going to be several shenanigans that involve your friends from Portland and eventually start to involve Damian and Jaime, eventually it goes into adding Cissie and then it starts to add Jason and Dick, then Tim hops along for the shenanigans. So as dark as the story will eventually get, there will be bright and colorful moments and funny things.
Onto the story**"Colton. What the hell?"
"They're smoke bombs."
"Those are condoms filled with baby powder."You and Colton had managed to get into the room above the auditorium, not with so much ease on your part. But Colton seemed to know what he was doing. In the small room was a projector that pointed through the pen window, lots of paperwork, dimly lit lights, and several record books. Also a door that lead to some stairs that went up to the roof, to where the skylight was. Where Colton had planted some fireworks beforehand, it's the beginning of the year and he's been waiting all summer for this. Apparently.
"Maybe I'm just a vigilante on a budget. Ever thought about that, princess?" He retorted, a joking tone to his voice as he switched out the disc of the introduction for Gotham Academy's new school year with the Fitness gram Pacer Test disc. His hands sliding across the desk and seating himself down in the large leather chair in front of the big open window, watching students enter the adoration from this view. Up above everyone, seeing anybody and everybody. Well, almost everybody.
You only crossed your arms and gave the redhead a scowl, leaning back against a book shelf and moving your left leg while bending a knee. If anyone could deliver more sass, you could always attempt to try. You can be dramatic, you can be prissy, but you get annoyed easily.
"Some vigilante then, please don't call me that either." It came out harsher than you meant, and it was harsh enough for the redheaded trouble maker to pick up on how you mentioned the vigilante insult to him. Not even five minutes ago you were shaking out of anxiety and excitement about going out of your comfort zone. A ridiculous smile on your face and blushing cheeks. Now you're leaning back on a book shelf with crossed arms and a scowl on your lips and narrowed eyes as if this kid's just attempted to steal your phone.
"Okay, whatever. Do you know what time this assembly actually starts?" Colton asked, pushing his tinted sunglasses up a bit as they were falling down his nose. He had a shade of light green eyes, you only saw it for a split second but eyes that bright? Why'd he hide them all the time.
"Umm," You paused your speaking and looked at your watch. "About five minutes-"
"Shit, Why didn't you tell me it was about to start?!" Colton practically jumped out of his skin when jutting himself upwards. Sunglasses becoming askew on his facial features when the two of you went silent and heard the sound of footsteps in the distance coming up the stairs to the room you were both in."I thought it started automatically! How was I supposed to know that some staff guy come up here to do it?!"
You yelled back, stomping a foot forwards and holding your hands out while learning forwards. Colton didn't want to deal with an arrogant newbie right now, so all he did was grab your wrist and yank you towards the door and ran up the stairs to the roof with you right behind him.Instantly, the sunlight from above had got to your eyes and you squinted to the point your eyes almost completely shut. At this, Colton smirked and mockingly offered you his sunglasses. To which you answered no, knowing full well he had no intention to give them to you.
