Angela's POV

"Wow. Honestly Angela, I have to say I'm impressed because, you know, me keeping a knife is a sin but you buying a gun in PERFECTLY FINE," Amanda through her hands up in disbelief and I loaded the keltec P-3AT I had just bought at the local armory store.

"Heather wanted me to. I follow Heather's rules."

"She didn't say it was a-"

"She wanted me to and that's the bottom line." I said, holding up the gun and aiming at the piece of cardboard that Teegan had spray painted a target on.

"Hold your ears."

Seconds later, the gun shot sounded and a bullet whole was just on the outside of the bull's-eye.

"Dang, Angela. You just got a gun and you're already great," Teegan said.

"I'm surprised..." I said, looking at the gun in my hands.

"I'm surprised," Amanda said in a mocking and teasing tone. I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"They can't get to you now," Teegan said.

"Actually they can. Ever heard of-"

"Chloroform? The chemical sleeping gas that can literally put you to sleep in one breath? Yeah. It's usually dumped on a rag and-"

Amanda stopped talking when she realized the looks we were giving her.

"Chloroform? Psh, I have no idea what you're talking about. What's chloroform?"

"Amanda, we didn't even mention chlor-"

"Shhhh."

We all got quiet when I loaded the gun.

"And three, two, one."

The gunshot sounded and I got a bulls-eye.

"Annnnd I think that's enough for today," I said, taking off my ear muffs and beginning to walk inside. "Are you going to tell Heather that you got a gun?" Teegan asked. "Of course. She wanted me too so-"

"Great work, Angela."

I jumped a bit and looked up. Heather was standing there, smiling.

"Heather! When did you get here?"

"I heard the gunshots from down the street and figured you had bought a gun so I came here." She answered.

"And how did you let yourself in?

"Keys under a welcome mat aren't the best hiding spots, Angela."

"Oh."

There was silence. Until Amanda broke it.

"So how are you doing?" She asked.

"Not so good, I'm afraid." Heather said. We walked inside and sat down at my dining room table. Heather didn't speak after that. She just looked sown, and waited for us to say something. Knowing Heather always is happy, this made us concerned.
