Yes, that is my art. I drew it in yr8 for my art h/w. We were to draw a page about our interests, favourite things and hobbies. The reason it's not coloured in is because I used the wrong art pencil, it would've been a mess if I attempted to colour it. I'll try to remember to mention if a drawing is mine or not. Anyway, on with the show...

O is for opposite
of your real mother of course
fun and caring seemingly
or is there more

in such a world
too good to be true
and seems to make you feel
less blue

I your new mother
acting her role
as the woman who loves you
such acts take their toll

now my time ticks
the lock clicks
I refuse to let you leave

you'll keep me alive
I've barely survived
but now YOUR time is up
it's MY turn to breathe

oh I can just conceive
my excitement for life
after I shall prepare
for my next bite

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
T is for tears
my victims have cried
when I took buttons
and replaced their eyes

blood mixed with tears
dripped down their face
the pain etched forever
never leaving
such fate

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
H is for hunger
for your soul
like those before
luring you through that small door

I trick you with lies
as you get caught in my web
oh little flies
filled heavy with dread

I am the spider
you are my prey
and like those before
you won't see day

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
E is for empty
because I can seem heartless
I don't really care
for anyone besides myself

so I guess it's true
you could say I'm empty
though once I was human
my personality never changed

humans are selfish
and expect too much
so it wouldn't surprise me as such
that the children whose parents neglected
were missed so much
if they really cared they would've earned backtheir love

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
R is for rage
when you refuse me
I gave you everything
you're so confusing

I try to coax you
into giving your soul
and yet you still refuse

you love it here
I offer an eternal stay
loving you so
but you see through all I say

you see my lies
smart girl I'll give you that
so I have to play

I love games
so do you and your cat
I don't win fairly
I HATE to lose

as I am wearing away
I realize I must be fast
for if I don't
tonight will be my last

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
M is for monster
I am seen as such
yes, I suppose
I've caused much-

misery and despair
for those innocent kids
but I don't have much choice
I only wish to live

though to be fair
I couldn't care less
they don't matter to me
for I am a temptress

they don't see it coming
they believe my lies
I've hidden quite well
behind my disguise

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
O is for omnipresent
for I am always there
you don't even notice
my hungry stare

I see through your doll
a gift from me
to learn about you
so I can make you trust me

it's all a facade
but you'd never know
until the end that is
but you've got far to go

being there helps
me quicken the process
so I can devour you whole
leaving no carcass

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
T is for torment
oh what they went through
poor little children
if only they knew

of the darkness inside
my vacant chest
for I have no heart
but you noticed
yes?

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
H is for hazardous
you could say I'm such
for I'm a danger to you
though who could care love?

I am toxic
you are flesh
I mold and change
no-one realised yet?

I took your mother's form
and used my soul-sand
to create marionettes
to assist in my plan

to lure you away
do you give up your soul?
time to eat
i'm famished

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
E is for eager
oh I was
I was so hungry
and impatient
my baby dove

mother needs assistance
could you help her? you see?
you keep her going
that's the key

but I don't want your love
or you for that matter
perhaps I wants your heart
on a silver platter

🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
R is for regret
I have none
but my dearest victims
have more than one

they regret they trusted me
the Beldame, that's me
sewing buttons for their eyes
almost three

but most you all regret
is leaving behind
dear mother
and darling father

hmm... they're just fine
they don't need their children
I doubt they care

sorry Caroline
life just ain't fair

"Well," Coraline said, a sparkle of mischief in her eye, "if you believe that, then blame life for what happens next, not me."

The Beldame chuckled darkly, "And just what will you do, Coraline? I've already won. There's no escape."

"I just have to get creative," Coralines eye darted to the cat. Quick, as an flash, she grabbed and threw him into the Beldames face. His claws sharp as needles raked her button eyes from her face. The Beldame screamed in pure rage.

Coraline bolted for the door, taking the cat and key with her.

"For my sake, I hope I never SEE you again," were Coralines final words to the monstrous mockery of her mother.

She locked the door and crawled down the tunnel out the other side.

Home free. It had been a while since she'd seen real light. The sun shone brightly, practically blinding her, so she nicked her mothers sunglasses.

"Aw yeah, like a boss."

The cat watched unamused from the sidelines before sunbathing in the patch of sunlight coming through the window. Perfect weather for a well-earned nap.
