Chapter one

Daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, it echoed in a chorus. Daddy's coming home! The small six year old was excited, bouncing around the room in which she usually slept, smiling gleefully as she shoved her toys in her toy-box, her clothes into the dirty hamper, and shrugged a pink frilly shirt over her head.

Daddy's coming home, he's coming, he'll be here soon! She squealed in delight as she heard the doorbell echo up the stairs and through to her room. She could hear her mother's footsteps thud and click against the tiles as she made her way to the polished white marble door, the chandelier slightly shimmering with a soft sound of glass as the wind breezed through the open doorway.

Her body pitter-padded loudly as she threw herself down the stairs in front of her mother's confused and scared face. She came to a standstill, staring confused up at her mother, wary of the look she rarely ever, if never, see on her mother's face. Turning away from her mother's prying hands, hands that were trying to push her behind her and out of the doorway, she faced the two men that were staring down at her curiously.

She knew they were wondering why she looked so different. She always looked at herself and saw someone who wasn't normal like her Mummy, or her Daddy. She used to stare at her Mummy's green eyes all the time, at her blonde hair, whenever she was in bed getting tucked in, or her Daddy's brown eyes and brown hair when he caught her flying body every time he came home, when she would be over joyed to jump into his comforting arms.

Many people, people who saw her, assumed she was blind, with her shining white eyes, no pupil's. She yearned to have the black swirl in the middle of each eye, but she knew she never would. She wished her hair had a colour that was normal, instead of a colour so white it was almost silver.

The girls at school thought she was weird and always teased her. Leni Leni long hair, hair as white as snow. Leni Leni white eyes, a freak that no-one knows! They pushed her sometimes, mocking her when she cried. Sometimes she came home with grazes, and the teacher always scolded her for lying about being pushed, stating to her parents that she was clumsy. Leni was less that clumsy, in fact she was very graceful. She wanted to dance but her Mummy was always too busy to take her, and her Daddy was never home.

She watched warily, yet curiously as the men looked down at her, eyed hard and scary. They wore unidentifiable expressions as one of them moved his gaze towards her Mummy, the other keeping his directly on her face, looking for something neither of us knew.

"Mrs Calloway." The man facing her Mummy spoke, voice void of emotion. "...And?"

Her mother pushed her body behind hers forcefully, and she could feel her shaking as she did so. She clung to the back of her Mothers dress, peering curiously around her legs to see what was happening. "Who are you?" Her mother spat. "And how do you know my name?"

"We know everything about you Mrs Anne Calloway." He continued, answering her mother's questions without further explanation. Then peered down at the small girl once more, an annoyed scowl passing on his face. "Well, almost everything."

Fear splashed over her Mothers features as she tried to slam the door in their faces, much to no avail. The man closest to the small girl threw his polished shoe before it could close, pulling his gaze away from mine calmly. He gave me bad vibes.
